FEE MODIFICATIONS FOR HPER CLASSES SFCC is pleased to offer fitness and wellness classes to our community through an array of Health,

Physical Education and Recreation (HPER)

classes. These classes, including general use of the exceptional William C. Witter Fitness Education Center, are a popular and pleasurable way for students, retirees and everyone to make exercise part of their lifestyle. Recent changes to state funding have made it necessary for the college to modify its fee structure for HPER classes. Please read the following information carefully to choose the best option for you when registering for HPER classes.

AUDITING HPER CLASSES

Regular tuition rates (in-district, out-of-district and out-of-state) apply. See “Tuition” section on Page 13. IN ADDITION TO THE TUITION RATES LISTED ON PAGE 13, STUDENTS REGISTERING UNDER THIS OPTION PAY: • An $80 per credit hour audit fee • A one-time $70 fitness fee (pay only once, regardless of number of classes taken) • A $1 per credit hour activity fee • A $3.80 per credit hour general fee

TAKING HPER CLASSES FOR CREDIT (GRADE)

Unless you are a senior citizen, the tuition rates on Page 13 apply. If you are a senior, the senior rate of $5 will be applied on a space-available basis. IN ADDITION TO THE TUITION RATES LISTED ON PAGE 13, THE FOLLOWING FEES APPLY: • A one-time $70 fitness fee (pay only once, regardless of number of classes taken) • A $1 per credit hour activity fee • A $3.80 per credit hour general fee When you take HPER classes, grades are not calculated in a GPA. Exceptions to this are considered upon your request to the Welcome and Advising Center.

FITNESS CENTER DAY PASS

A one-day fitness pass is available through the front desk at the Fitness Education Center for $6.

FITNESS CENTER MONTHLY PASS A 30-day fitness pass is available through the front desk at the Fitness Education Center for $50.

Seven SFCC students have received $1,000 Returning Student/Regional College scholarships from the Los Alamos National Laboratory Employees’ Scholarship Fund. The awards help students returning to school for certification or a two-year degree. Funding comes from donations by LANL employees and a matching amount from Los Alamos National Security, LLC., and the scholarships are administered by the LANL Foundation.
