Apply the training received to enhance its constantly, create progression conditions and search endlessly new goals to overcome them. This is my way of being and thinking. My name is Sérgio Simões, I am Portuguese, from Leiria, and I am a Landscape Architect by conviction. My professional experience begins when, in 2002, I have the possibility to collaborate with the office João Patrício - Arquitectura e Urbanismo, Lda. During a year I have worked as civil construction technical designer (draftsman), being also the responsible for the office logistic. From 2003 to 2008 I attended the course of Landscape Architecture at the University of Évora. In april 2007 professor Pedro Batalha (landscape architect) invited me to work at the office PB.ARQ - arquitectura paisagista, Lda, as landscape architect trainee. Since then, and in the past eight years, I have worked either in office either individually, as landscape architect and project manager, responsible for the development, managing and coordination of projects and construction administration. During this period I was given the opportunity to participate in more than 50 design processes, and as Project Manager I coordinated 32 of these cases, I was also the responsible for the construction administration of 12 of that works. It’s important to emphasize the relevance and size of some of these projects, which required the coordination of numerous multidisciplinary teams, executing complex budget estimates, the compatibility of projects of different specialties, the quality control of projects, as well as the active management of all the logistics involved in the development and completion of such proceedings. From my professional experience I want also highlight the invitation to join the faculty of the Department of Landscape, Environment and Planning, University of Évora. This activity, however brief, in 2010, to assist in the chair of Projects II from the course of landscape architecture, has made possible, unequivocally, the improving of my ability of communication and transmission of ideas. Now, I am looking for new challenges…. Opportunities to show my knowledge and skills that I have acquired during my work experience, mainly in the development, managing, coordinating and quality control of projects.
