Michael Tucker was born in Austin, Texas and trained as a dancer with Ballet Austin, at the School of American Ballet and the New York Choreo graphic Institute. In 2008 he received the Mae L. Wien Award for Outstanding Promise. After dancing with the New York City Ballet he spent one year on the Apprentice program run by the Semperoper Ballett and Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden before entering the Semperoper Ballett’s Corps de Ballet in 2010. In 2012 he was promoted to Coryphée. Initial successes with the »Young Choreographers« are followed this season by his own ballet evening for the program of the Semperoper Young Scene.
