Study 11 mandatory units including communication in health and social care, health and safety, duty of care, the role of the health and social care worker, and safeguarding individuals. There are then a choice of optional units covering topics such as supporting person-centred approaches, advocacy, healthcare activities and clinical procedures.

Study 12 mandatory units including sector specific communication, health and safety, duty of care, the role of the health and social care worker, and safeguarding individuals. There are then a choice of optional units including care of individuals with urethral catheters, tissue viability risk assessments, wound care, electrocardiograph procedures, and end of life care or specialism in mental health or dementia.
