EMBEDDED: FINDING THE CONCEPTUAL WITHIN THE PHYSICALITY OF PAINT KATE NICHOLS 10 sessions: Tuesdays, June 3–August 5 6:30–9:30 pm | $440 Experiment with nontraditional and improvised painting tools and materials in this laboratory-style, studio-based course. Engage in purposeful play at the outer reaches of your painting practice.

INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED PAINTING GLENN HIRSCH 10 sessions: Wednesdays, June 3–August 5, and Sunday, July 26 6:30–9:30 pm Wednesdays, 1–4 pm Sunday | $440 The course will explore the content of each student’s art through irony, humor, narrative, mood, and the use of unusual materials. Individual instruction and technical assignments will help students to explore a particular style and become more independent by painting in series.

SCULPTING FROM THE MODEL BRYNDA GLAZIER 10 sessions: Saturdays, June 6–August 15 10 am–1 pm | $440 Focus on seeing and creating the human figure out of clay as you sculpt from a live model. Studio time will be bolstered with demonstrations, handouts, and individualized instruction to help you create ceramic works reflective of your unique perception of the figure.
