PUBLISHER’S LETTER

fall. Welcome to the fall issue of Luxe Interiors + Design. We’ve had an exciting summer of networking events that have helped us prepare for the upcoming season. After positive feedback in Seattle, we launched our first Battle of the Chefs Portland in July at Standard TV & Appliance in Beaverton. Industry professionals competed in a onehour culinary competition making an appetizer and dessert from two secret ingredients announced just before the event. Local top chefs anchored each team: Cathy Whims of Nostrana and Oven and Shaker; Adam Higgs from Acadia; Alex Parsons of El Gaucho; Scott Dolich from The Bent Brick and Park Kitchen; and Chris Carriker, executive freelance chef. All were amazing and we can’t thank you enough for your contributions and sense of humor. In September, we joined Masins Fine Furnishings & Interior Design to welcome Barbara Barry as she previewed selections of her furniture, fabric, accessory and lighting collections, and signed copies of her book, Around Beauty. And in October, we will host an invitation-only Luxe pumpkin-carving contest at Sizzleworks Cooking School in Bellevue to celebrate the spirit of the season. Looking forward to seeing you out and about in the coming months.
