Library Computer Lab This program startups will explore popular social networks — Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn — and their function as marketing tools. Participants will create an account on each network and will be shown how to best utilize each site to promote a business or startup. Instructor: Amy Grishman
GETTING PAID TO TALK
Age: 18 and older Date: Monday, Nov. 19 Time:6:30 to 9 p.m. Fee: $15 Place: Place: Senior Center, 5 Broad St. Participants will explore numerous aspects of voice-over work for television, film, radio, audio books, documentaries, and the Internet in the North Shore area, including how to prepare the all-important demo and how to earn a great income. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and to hear examples of demos recorded by professional voice actors. Participants will have a chance to record a commercial script under the direction of our voicecoaches.com producer. This class is informative, fun, and a great first step for anyone interested in voice acting professionally.
REIKI TRAINING: FIRST-DEGREE PRACTITIONER Date: Tuesday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 25 Time: 6:30 to 9 p.m. Fee: $100 Place: Place: Senior Center, 5 Broad St. Reiki (pronounced ray-key), is Japanese for universal life energy. Reiki energy flows through the hands of the practitioner and into the person, animal or plant being treated, enhancing and accelerating the natural healing processes in the body. It helps to restore balance and harmony and promotes the relaxation response. Participants will learn the foundations of Usui Reiki, how to use Reiki energy to heal, and receive the Reiki First-Degree attunement, which will open your chakras to Reiki energy. You will also receive a training manual and, upon completion, receive a certificate as a Reiki Level I Practitioner. Instructor: Elaine Tavis, RMT
REIKI TRAINING: SECOND-DEGREE PRACTITIONER
Date: Tuesday, Nov. 27, and Thursday, Nov. 29 Time: 6:30 to 9 p.m. Fee: $200 Place: Senior Center, 5 Broad St. During this two day class, you will receive an attunement that will increase the amount of Reiki energy you channel and you will learn Reiki Symbols that will allow you to focus on emotional and mental health. Learn how to perform Reiki from a distance or remotely. You will receive a Reiki II manual and upon completion of the program you will be given a Reiki II Practitioner certificate.
