ELLI INGRAM We feel proud we managed to drag this 19 year-old, Brighton-bred, Amy Winehouse and Jack Daniels fan away from the studio long enough for her to tell us that there is nothing more she loves than singing, creating melodic songs like Silver & Gold and her phone (“It’s really bad, I’m always on my iPhone, that should be my New Year’s resolution to cut it out.”). After recently appearing alongside Benny Banks on catchy Let Me Be, she reminds us it’s been a very long journey since “belting out Aretha Franklin” at the tender age of six. “Since then, it’s always been about the music,” the singer/songwriter explains. “I love my hip hop and things like that. There’s nothing else that makes me feel like music does.
