What made you apply to PSA Peugeot Citroën? I was initially attracted to work for PSA Peugeot Citroën because it included two placements within the HR function, which gave me the opportunity to experience two entirely different departments. As well as this, the friendly culture when I attended my assessment centre and the willingness of the recruitment team to make the process as simple as possible appealed to me, along with the overall organisation of the day. How much responsibility were you given during your placement? I was pleasantly surprised by how much responsibility I was given. Although we had been told we would be given an ‘actual role’, the level of responsibility was beyond my expectations. This continued throughout my placement with the opportunity to get involved with activities outside of my direct department, such as Working Parties and the Social Committee. I was never afraid to ask for more responsibility or additional tasks and my colleagues were always happy to give me more work! To what extent did you enjoy your placement? I thoroughly enjoyed both of my placements at PSA Peugeot Citroën, and in particular, I enjoyed moving departments to gain an understanding of different HR functions. I also enjoyed meeting fellow employees at both the Head Office and the Parts Distribution Warehouse and understanding how both

sides of the business operate and work together. How did PSA Peugeot Citroën prepare you for your placement? The support I received before starting my placement was excellent. I attended a pre-induction event which gave me the opportunity to meet the other placement students. I was also given a Buddy, with whom I had regular contact before starting. In my first week I had a four day induction, which gave me a better understanding of the company and of my team, as well as being introduced to the in-depth training programme which would run throughout the year. How has this placement affected your career prospects? I feel participating in a placement at PSA Peugeot Citroën has given me invaluable experience which I would not have gained from university. As well as an understanding of HR, I have also gained a better overview of my strengths and weaknesses, which have been highlighted through my appraisals, so I am able to carry this information forward in future applications. Also, working for a renowned brand such as PSA Peugeot Citroën looks great on your CV! to find out more,
