A sing along for polar bear lovers THURSDAY, AUG. 23, Making Books Sing, a New York City-based theater company, will promote children’s literacy with a performance, If You Really Love Polar Bears, at the Bronx Library Center, located at 310 East Kingsbridge Road, at 4 p.m. If You Really Love Polar Bears is the story of a little boy named Patchy who loves polar bears and learns about

SUNDAYS THROUGH OCTOBER, The Science Barge on Yonkers’ waterfront, located at 99 Dock St. in Yonkers, will host art and science workshops for children ages 4 to 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. After crossing the gangplank, children and their families will learn about plants, juggling and kaleidoscopes. Each Sunday, the workshop will teach something different. On July 29, attendees will learn from Blue Crab Blitz about the crabs they catch. The suggested donation is $5. Explore the Bronx with BRAC SATURDAY, AUG. 11, The Bronx River Art Center, located at 2060 Boston Road, will launch Virtual/Monumental, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Virtual/Monumental is a visual narrative of ďŹ ve projects that focus on the center, the river and the Bronx community.
