Together june 2012 News from the Diocese of Ripon and Leeds Churches protest at VAT on building works Thirty R&L churches a year would be hit by 20% tax on development projects Churches across the diocese have joined the growing protest over government plans to put VAT onto the cost of alterations to listed buildings. We are trying to emerge out of this and the government says, ‘we’re slapping something else on top of it.’” The extension will house a new kitchen, a community room and new toilets.
