CUPRINS SUMMARY Eugen COZMA, Ilie ONICA Analiza fenomenului geomecanic ce a determinat producerea accidentului din abatajul nr. 431, mina Petrila Geomechanical Phenomenon Analysis of The Fatal Accident Produced in The Top Coalcaving Mining Face No. 431, Petrila Mine Petrila mine of Jiu Valley Coal Basin (Romania), the thick coal seam no.3 is mined in horizontal slices with top coal caving methods in longwall faces, supported by individual metallic caps and props. In this paper it is presented the synthesis of geomechanical phenomenon developed around the face no.431, which lead to a methane gas deflagration and the human accidents, in the 15 November 2008. The accident was produced in the starting point of the panel mining. Also, there are presented in detail the accident causes analysis and some technical propositions in order to prevent the arising of these types of phenomenon.

Nicolae ILIAS, George CHIRIL, Daniela ONOFRE, Alina (CHITAC) LORINT, Marcel HOARA Compania Naţională a Huilei între problemele de exploatare şi problemele de protecţie a mediului National Hard Coal Company Between Exploiting and Environmental Problems The main activity of National Hard Coal Company is the extraction and preparation. Technological process used in coal extraction and preparation affects the environment. For decrease these effects C.N.H. S.A Petrosani promotes the environment politics durable development and allocates for this purpose financial resources for endowments and trainings, documentations on environment problems.

Dumitru BADULESCU, Ilie ONICA Influenţa înălţimii bancului subminat asupra performanţelor metodelor de exploatare cu banc de cărbune subminat din Valea Jiului Influence of Top Coal Height on The Performances of Top Coal Caving Mining Methods in Jiu Valley Coal Basin Taking into account the market economy concepts, beginning with 1995, the National Hard Coal Company of Petrosani (Romania) replaced the old mining methods with low productivity with others with higher productivity named top coal caving mining methods. This paper presents some ways of improving these methods in view of increasing the efficiency rate and the work security degree.

Aristid BOYTE, Ionut PREDOIU Teoria echivalenţelor cu aplicaţii concrete în calcule de stabilitate pentru structuri masive de roci stâncoase şi semistâncoase cu metoda elementelor finite Theory of Equivalences with Concrete Applications in Stability Calculations for Massive Rocky and Semi-Rocky Rock Structures Using The Method of Finite Elements This paper presents the application of two modern calculus methods, originally used in design in the mid fifties, and at the end of the seventies, respectively, methods applied in static, dynamic and stability calculations of rocky and semi-rocky rock massifs. The first, the method of finite elements, comparatively older, experienced in the recent decades a development and a field of application unusual for any other calculus method; a similar development can be foreseen for the theory of equivalences as well [1]. The paper is addressed to mining engineers working in research and design, as well as to professors and students attending mining faculties in our country.

Clement IONESCU, Clementina MOLDOVAN, Adelina IONESCU, Cyril PUJOL Impactul negativ al gudroanelor de joasă şi înaltă temperatură a cărbunilor asupra mediului înconjurător Adverse Impact of Low and High Temperature Tars Extracted from Coals Over The Surrounding Environment Coal represents a macromolecular compound which by pyrogenesis at high temperature transforms into coke and volatile products. By cooling and condensation, the volatile products form the coke gas and coke tar from which a very large number of aromatic compounds can be extracted. The purpose of the paper is to compare the aromatic compounds extracted from domestic and foreign coal tar, as well as their effects over the human and animal health

Ciprian BOLOG Probleme de echilibru ale cablurilor folosite la funiculare, telecabine şi telescaune. The Equilibrium Problems of The Cables Utilised at Cable Ways, Cable Cars and Chairlifts The paper shows how the equilibrium curve and the distribution of the tension along the string (with minimum and maximum values of the tension) can be obtained for cables with two rigid supports (the portion between two consecutive poles) which is subjected to its own distributed load and an arbitrary number of concentrated vertical forces (representing the weights of the transporting devices).

Elena-Ruxandra CHIURTU, Iulian NISTOR Studii experimentale privind remedierea zonelor poluate cu produse petroliere prin utilizarea sorbenţilor biodegradabili Experimental Studies on The Reclamation of Areas polluted With Petroleum Products by Using Biodegradable Sorbents The paper presents experimental solutions for the reclamation of soil contaminated with diesel oil and other petroleum products in the neighborhood of an oil deposit, using biodegradable sorbents alone or in combination with active biological sludge. Samples of soil polluted with petroleum and petroleum products have been treated in three different ways: with NatureSorb type biodegradable sorbent, with a mixture between biodegradable sorbent and biological sludge inoculum, respectively beech sawdust. For monitoring the degradation process, there were carried out monthly analysis of quality indicators of experimental samples and of microbiological activity in soil samples. After several months of treatment, concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons have been significantly reduced; greater efficiency in the diminution of the concentration of petroleum product was registered for samples treated with the mixture of biodegradable sorbent and organic sludge.
