When we talk about reducing energy consumption, the adequacy of the architectural design is the item that requires less investment and provides one of the largest energy savings that can reach up to 65%. In practical terms a building that is designed according to bioclimatic principles, uses knowledge of construction techniques and architectural elements to take advantage of the climate for the purpose of providing the built environment a high degree of thermal comfort and energy savings too. A design based on these principles shares sustainability concepts. In other words, the goal of a bioclimatic design is to save energy and enhance the well being inside the building. In case of reform and improvement of an existing work and built, surely there can be a "bioclimatic design" with the purpose of improving energy efficiency and thermal comfort of this natural existing building, using some strategies and implementation of architectural elements and / or equipment, such as cross-circulation system, use of natural light, the study of solar orientation for better thermal comfort and lighting boards, solar energy, etc.. When it comes to designing a new building for integrated solutions that exist, it is necessary to relate the architecture design from the start, climate, topography and bioclimatic solutions, and for that, the architect must have knowledge of these techniques. In this case, the architectural firm should work with professionals specializing in strategy and implementation of construction details that can specify and develop the best technical solutions.
