His book, War Letters, inspired the critically-acclaimed PBS documentary of the same name and the audio version of the book was nominated for a Grammy in the “Spoken Word” category. Carroll’s latest book, Here is Where, published in May 2013, chronicles his incredible journey across the United States to find unmarked locations associated with extraordinary individuals and pivotal events in our nation’s history. During years of research, Carroll trekked to every region of the country by car, train, plane, helicopter, bus, bike, kayak and foot to seek out the “hidden history” that is all around us.
