The Parks & Recreation Department accepts registration at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts Box office, MondayThursday 8am to 6pm and every other Friday, 8am to 5pm, excluding holidays. Preschool Resident Discount (“Res-Disc.”) vs. “Cost” Enrichment 6 Your resident address must fall within one of three Sports 6-7 Tracy Zip Codes (95376, 95377, or 95304) to receive our resident discount. In addition, your address must Youth Enrichment 8-9 be within Tracy city limits. If your address has five Sports 9-11 digits or more, then your home may be outside the Tracy city limits. It is possible to live in one of the three After School Program 12 Tracy Zip Codes and still not live within Tracy city Teens limits. All non-residents pay the “cost” of a program. Enrichment 12 Fitness & Sports 13-14 Program Withdrawal/Transfer/Refund If you are not happy with the quality of any of our Adults Enrichment 14-15 programs, please contact us right away. We want Sports 15-16 to resolve your concern so you can continue, or in some instances, receive a refund. Jr Giants Coaches WANTED
Volunteering as a coach in the City of Tracy’s Junior Giants program provides you with an opportunity to have a positive impact on the youth of our community. The Junior Giants program is a free, non-competitive baseball league that offers participants with an excellent opportunity to learn the basics of the game in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. This free program is for local children ages 5 through 13. No coaching experience is necessary as the Junior Giants offer coaching clinics and training DVDs to assist new or inexperienced volunteers on proper methods to teach the skills of the game. The program runs from late June through the first week of August. Stop by the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts, 715 Central Ave. to sign up to become a volunteer coach. After School Program (ASP) Recreation Staff
The After School Program (ASP) provides children with opportunities to improve academic performance, enhance their social skills, increase physical fitness and learn new things in a fun and safe environment on school campus. ASP staff are trained, educated, experienced and committed recreation professionals who value your child’s needs. The ASP program incorporates weekly homework assistance, the Healthy Habits program and enrichment activities. The daily rate allows participants to register for the ASP program one day at a time. The hourly rate is for those children who need after school care in the afternoon for 1-25 hours during a calendar month.

Have a voice and make a difference in your community by joining the Youth Advisory Commission. YAC is a great way for teens to get involved, develop leadership skills, take an active role in government and make an impact on the teen community. The City is recruiting new commission members for the 2017/2018 school year. Responsibilities include: attending monthly meetings, leading community service projects, developing recreational opportunities for teens, and participating in subcommittee planning groups. Lifeguard Training 2017
Becoming a lifeguard is a rewarding job, but requires hard work and the desire to help save lives. This 40 hour course includes e-learning, classroom learning and pool time. Lifeguard candidates must pass a prerequisite swim skill assessment before permitted to continue in the course. Once permitted to continue with the course, students will learn the skills to become a lifeguard. You will receive CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration certifications. Candidates are welcome to apply for lifeguard positions with the City of Tracy after completion of the course. We teach using a combination of traditional dog training techniques and behavior modifications. The City of Tracy kicks off the 2017 Adult Softball season with our Spring leagues held at the beautiful Tracy Sports Complex. Registration ends February 14. The goal of the Senior Center exercise program is to provide you with a safe and structured program to promote good health. Standing and chair exercise programs are provided. All classes are led by licensed, qualified instructors. * All exercises are adaptable to fit your current fitness level. * Bring a towel and water bottle. * Comfortable, loose clothing and gym shoes are recommended. (Please, no sandals.) * Before starting any fitness program you should consult with your physician. * Please no gum or food while exercising. Brown Bag is a food distribution program for seniors 60 years and older provided by Second Harvest. There are some income restrictions and participants may sign up at the Tracy Community Center the day of distribution only. Brown Bag is held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 8:30am to 10:30am. A $12 donation for the year is optional.
HICAP
Are you confused about Medicare? Do you want to make changes to your current coverage but need a little help? You’re in luck. HICAP is now at the Senior Center on Wednesdays! HICAP is part of Medicare’s national SHIP program. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing free & unbiased counseling to help you understand all your options. Paralegal assistance is provided to seniors 60 years and older free of charge by the El Concilio Home delivered frozen meals are available to organization on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each home-bound and/or temporarily ill seniors 60 month from 9am to 11:30am. TRACER Fixed Route operates Monday through Friday from 7am to 8pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 7pm. Are you 65 or older, a Medicare recipient, ADA certified, or disabled? Then you may qualify to have the Paratransit bus pick you up at your door and drop you off at your destination. Paratransit services operate during the same hours of the TRACER Fixed Route services.
