Ronald Reagan
February 6, 1911–June 5, 2004 40th President 1981–1989
Born in Tampico, Illinois, Ronald Reagan became a successful entertainer and one of the most popular presidents of the United States. After working his way through Eureka College, he became a radio sports announcer. Later, a 1937 screen test identified Reagan’s talent. His voluminous acting career includes 53 films. While serving as president of the Screen Actors Guild, Ronald Reagan became involved in the controversial issue of communism in the film industry causing him to shift his political views from liberal to conservative. Reagan won the California Governor’s race in 1966 and again in 1970. On the Republican ticket, Ronald Reagan became the fortieth President with Texas Congressman George Bush as his Vice President. Sixty-nine days after inauguration, he would be even more popular. Ronald Reagan was steadfast in his determination to cut taxes and budget expenditures. His renewal of confidence in America was called the “Reagan Revolution.” In accordance with military defense, Reagan set out to eliminate international terrorism. He also negotiated an agreement with Soviet Union leaders to end the use of nuclear missiles. Reagan was still strongly against Communism and in favor amongst anti-Communism groups in Central America, Asia, and Africa. Ronald Reagan was a brilliant politician, obtaining support in Congress to strengthen the national economy, lessen the inflation rate, and strengthen the military strategically. During the Reagan Administration, America enjoyed the longest period of peacetime prosperity without recession. His two terms saw a boost in confidence, economic prosperity, and a stronger national defense. Ronald Reagan High School was the first high school in the nation named after our 40th President. It opened its doors in the fall of 1999. With cutting-edge technology and innovative programs, it is not unlike its namesake.

Welcome to the 2014 Season
THE START OF A BRAND NEW SCHOOL YEAR ALWAYS BRINGS A GREAT DEAL OF EXCITEMENT! FOOTBALL IS A BIG PART OF THAT!
The energy and enthusiasm of a brand new football season is especially evident here in the great state of Texas! There is nothing like the tradition of Texas High School football. We hope you enjoy it for all the good things it does to bring together schools and communities! Thank you for being here tonight and showing your support for the countless number of young people who have worked for many months to be ready for tonight. These young people are involved in our band, dance teams, cheerleaders, ROTC, Color Guard, Student Council, and many other student activities that do great things at Reagan High School. We are proud of Reagan High School and the community in which we reside. Our school is fortunate to have outstanding support from many different angles. We would like to thank our administrative staff led by our principal, Mrs. Brenda Shelton. Reagan High School is proud to be a part of NEISD. We are thankful for our School Board, Dr. Brian Gottardy (Supt.), and the Executive Staff. Our athletic programs are indebted to our Athletic Director, Jerry Comalander, and his staff at BAC. We hope your enjoy looking through this program. A great deal of hard work by our awesome booster club (Diamondbacker Association) makes this possible! Thanks to all of the local merchants who showed support through advertising. Please give these places your business!!!! The Rattler Nation looks forward to another outstanding athletic year. We are the proud recipients of the SA Express News Dan Cook Cup Award for the 2013-14 school year. Our school has a great tradition of success that is attributed to young people who come from families with high expectations of achievement. Thank you for your support!
WE HOPE YOU ENJOY WHAT YOU SEE ON THE FIELD TONIGHT!
