Ken Sweeten is beginning his seventh year with the Bobcats. Sweeten was originally hired as the Assistant Sports Information Director in November of 2006 before being promoted to Sports Information Director in 2007-08. In his current role, Sweeten coordinates the publicity and media relations efforts for all of Quinnipiac’s 21 sports in addition to managing all content on the Official Website of Quinnipiac Athletics, www. QuinnipiacBobcats.com. Sweeten’s responsibilities include his role as the primary contact for the nationally-ranked men’s ice hockey program, as well as the field hockey, baseball and women’s golf teams. He also oversees a full-time assistant sports information director, and two graduate assistants, in addition to several federal work study employees. Since arriving at Quinnipiac, Sweeten has played a pivotal role in the expansion of all publications within the athletic department, as well as the development of the Bobcats’ website. In 2011, Sweeten coordinated all efforts between Quinnipiac and PrestoSports to launch the most recent version of QuinnipiacBobcats.com. In 2012, he received credit as the associate producer for the Emmynominated “Bobcats Unleashed in HD.” Among his accomplishments since arriving at Quinnipiac, Sweeten spearheaded a national campaign that saw men’s ice hockey captain Jean-Marc Beaudoin become the first Quinnipiac student-athlete to finish among the finalists for the prestigious Lowe’s SENIOR Class Award. Sweeten has also developed promotional items for the Hobey Baker Award for Brandon Wong and Eric Lampe in 2009-10, Bryan Leitch in 2008-09 and Jamie Bates in 2007-08. Sweeten has also helped with the presentation of live statistics for all sports, while also working with Quinnipiac’s extensive student media population to audio-stream a majority of the Bobcats’ home events. Before coming to Quinnipiac, Sweeten served as the Director of Athletic Media Relations/Sports Information at Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y. Prior to that, he held the position of Sports Information Assistant at Southern Connecticut State University. He also served as the assistant for athlete development with the Nutmeg State Games. Sweeten graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management with a concentration in marketing and promotions. He currently resides in Hamden, Conn.

Anthony Distasio begins his second year as the Assistant Sports Information Director and the primary media contact for the men’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, men’s soccer and men’s and women’s tennis programs. Distasio comes to Quinnipiac after most recently holding the position of Athletic Communications Assistant at the University of New Haven. At UNH, he was responsible for the publicity and media relation efforts for 15 NCAA Division II athletic programs. He also completed a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) program in July 2011. Prior to his stint at UNH, Distasio was a member of the athletic communications department at Southern Connecticut State University. As the Assistant Sports Information Director, Distasio covered the nationally-ranked men’s soccer team, as well as women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and softball. Distasio graduated from Springfield College in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management and a concentration in Business Management. While at Springfield, he was a member of the varsity men’s soccer team for four seasons. Bethany Buckholz begins her first year as a graduate assistant for Quinnipiac University and primary contact for women’s basketball, women’s soccer, women’s rugby, acrobatics and tumbling and women’s lacrosse. While at Quinnipiac she will be completing a Master’s degree in Public Relations.
