Biggest Week in American Birding Visitor Guide
Black Swamp Bird Observatory is proud to host The Biggest Week In American Birding along with our our co-hosts, Maumee Bay Lodge & Conference Center, Destination Toledo and Lake Erie Shores & Islands. "The Biggest Week" celebrates the peak of spring migration in the Lake Erie Marsh Region of northwest Ohio. Centered on Magee Marsh Wildlife Area and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, the region has gained a reputation as "The Warbler Capital of the World" for the awesome concentrations and point-blank views of these fascinating little migrants. This birding festival "week” will be so jam-packed with workshops, warblers, guided field trips, warblers, half day trips, Lake Erie island birding trips, keynote speakers, workshops, and more warblers, that it will have to be held over 10 days, from Friday, May 3, through Sunday, May 12, 2013.
