Ocena komfortu życia oceniona za pomocą kwestionariusza DASH wykazała jego zwiększenie o 5 pkt (ze 100 na 95), a wg kwestionariusza SF 36 (w modyfikacji Tylki) – 17 pkt (z 50 na 67). Ocena funkcji wg skali Chena (stosowana dla replantowanych kończyn) sytuuje wynik jako III (mierny). W przeciwieństwie do niewysokiej standaryzowanej oceny, biorca jest całkowicie usatysfakcjonowany uzyskanym wynikiem stwierdzając „odzyskana ręka pozwoliła mi wrócić do aktywnego życia”. OMÓWIENIE Okres 6 mies. to czas wystarczający, aby wzorem poprzedników (14, 16, 17) dokonać wstępnej oceny uzyskanego wyniku, jak też odnieść się do rokowań, w aspekcie trafności wyboru biorcy, tym bardziej że jest to dopiero trzeci europejski biorca przeszczepu kończyny górnej na wysokości 1/2 przedramienia (8). Strefa, na której przeprowadziliśmy u naszego chorego przeszczep, nie jest korzystna pod względem możliwości powrotu funkcji, co wynika z długiego dystansu reinnerwacji oraz

of anastomosis, re-innervation exceeded 23 and 20 cm for the median and ulnar nerve, respectively, after 180 days, i.e. 47% and 42% of total regeneration distance (anastomotic site to fingertips). In this region (anterior forearm surface) the recipient properly perceived sensory impulses (sharp/blunt recognition); thermal sensation was present up to approximately 10 cm from the anastomosis. The skin of the whole forearm was moist and only thinly covered with hair, which was typical for the recipient. Function. The range of the total active movement (TAM) of the digits’ was 140° and of the radio-carpal joint, 24°. The maximal digital flexion distance measured to the distal palmar crease was 7.5 cm. From the 4th month onward the recipient used the limb as an assisting hand; now he is able to drive a car and a bike with both hands. At the last check-up he demonstrated the ability to hold a mug, cellular phone and a kettle (fig. 3). The DASH form demonstrated an 5 point increase in quality of life (from 100 to 95), and the SF 36 form a 17 point increase (from 50 to 67). Chen’s scale (used for replanted limbs) assessed the functional recovery only as satisfactory (grade III). In contrary to this standardized evaluation the recipient is absolutely satisfied with obtained result, as he states: “Re-
