Sounders FC hosted the second largest crowd for a standalone MLS match when 66,452 packed CenturyLink Field on Sunday night for Seattle's derby match against Portland. The attendance also marked the largest attendance for a MLS game at CenturyLink Field, and ranks seventh in league history for a MLS match. All told, over one million people (1,129,420) attended a Sounders FC match in 2012, including home and road matches across all competitions and the Chelsea FC friendly. There were 817,950 people who entered the gates at CenturyLink Field for 2012 matches, of which 733,441 attended MLS matches (average of 43,144).

ATTENDANCE RECORDS BROKEN For the fourth straight year, Seattle set an MLS record for attendance with an average of 43,144 in 2012, breaking 2011’s record of 38,948 by 4,646 per game. Sounders FC hosted the second-largest standalone crowd in MLS history when 66,452 fans packed CenturyLink Field to witness a 3-0 win over the Portland Timbers on October 7.
