BLOTTER Man busted taking meth ‘hit’ in car On May 10, a Bremerton man, 59, was caught taking a “hit” from a glass pipe while sitting in his car on N. Callow Avenue. The Bremerton Police officer, familiar with the suspect, demanded he place his hands on his steering wheel after seeing a glass pipe in the driver’s lap. A narcotic K-9 unit advised there was a “positive alert” on the vehicle, and the residue tested positive for methamphetamine. The man was booked into Kitsap County Jail on a $20,000 bail for possession of meth.

Kimberly Cook, 55, stole miscellaneous medical supplies totaling $200 as a patient at Harrison Hospital. Cook concealed needles and other items in her purse, and admitted that she took them when confronted by hospital staff. After Bremerton police officers arrived, Cook’s purse was searched again and turned up “small pieces of tinfoil with burn marks on it,” believed to be heroin. As the woman was being escorted outside, her son approached the pair. A search through dispatch turned out three warrants for Sean Cook, who was also placed into custody and was found with tinfoil in his coat pocket. Mother and son were both booked into jail on various charges.

Thief runs away with eight undies After a shoplifter ran from a JCPenney store on May 6, she hid in bushes behind the store with her pants down around her ankles. She stuffed eight pairs of women’s underwear into her purse before running out of the store. Once cuffed, deputies asked the Chimicum woman, 22, her name. She continued staring at the deputies, a blank expression on her face. After several attempts to get her name, the woman finally said, “I will be cooperative.” According to a Kitsap County Sheriff ’s Office report, the woman “did not appear to be doing very well physically” and was rapidly breathing as she stared at the deputy. Once inside a patrol car, she threw up prior to aid arriving to inspect her. A Cencom search confirmed a warrant for her, and two prescription bottles — including an empty Xanax one — were discovered in her purse. She was booked on a $45,000 bail for thirddegree theft and a felony warrant for second-degree burglary.
