Pirates, local music liven up downtown Poulsbo POULSBO — An event that evolved from a celebration of the city’s 100th birthday to a multifaceted celebration of summer rocked downtown Poulsbo Aug. 10. Front Street was blocked off to traffic for about eight hours for Poulsbo’s annual Street Dance. “We want to show our appreciation for our locals who support us all year long,” said Tammy Mattson, Street Dance coordinator. “It’s downtown’s way of saying thank you.” Donation bins during the street dance benefited North Kitsap Fishline. The Pacific Northwest Cruisers Rendezvous, Aug. 9-11, coincided with the Street Dance. Port of Poulsbo Manager Brad Miller said the rendezvous was expected bring 100 boats to the marina, with likely more boats anchored out and other visitors coming in RVs that will be parked in the port parking lot on Jensen Way.
