Visual Voices boost art Visual Voices Women’s Art Show and Sale will benefit the Whidbey General Hospital Foundation. Island Dance reviews the year The Island Dance Recital at South Whidbey High School will be presented at 2 p.m. June 22. See all this year’s Island Dance class performances including the advanced lyrical class’s award winning “Seven Devils,” submitted to WICA. Events protect children in cars Children will be safe in their car seats if parents attend events sponsored by South Whidbey Fire/EMS and Whidbey General Hospital. The first event is a one-hour class of car seat safety essentials for parents and other care givers from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. June 23 at South Whidbey Assembly of God Church, Room 101.

The second event is an actual child and car seat installation check clinic at the Langley Fire Station from 1 to 4 p.m. June 29. Anyone who attends the one-hour class is eligible for a free car set from the fire district.

The worm turns at Tilth market Sign up now for a vermiculture workshop at 11:30 a.m. June 23 at the South Whidbey Tilth Farmers Market. This free workshop is about composting food waste with earthworms and is taught by vermitech specialist Todd Spratt of the BugaBay Company. They currently lease two beautifully maintained garden plots at Tilth’s Sustainable Agriculture campus at 2812 Thompson Road. They even keep chickens in the garden.
