S uch A Beautiful Face: Venessa DeLaRosa

C: What has been your biggest challenge to becoming a plus size model? V: For me either I was not small enough or big enough. My size has fluctuated from a size 22 to 10.

C: You have faced some medical challenges such as battling cervical cancer and losing your abil ity to walk due to a problem with an epidural injection. How have those challenges changed your outlook on life? V: I have been through so many trials and setbacks, but through each exper ience I have been through have made me a stronger person. Without my faith in God, I wouldn't be where I am today. Life is not guaranteed so each day I live my life to the fullest. C: We recently saw you in the Spring/ Summer campaign for Wole Designs. Are there any other upcoming projects that we can look forward to seeing you in?

V: I am currently in two fashion shows coming up this week modeling for the House of Van Miller, with Vanessa Henderson and Felicia Dietrich Crochet Couture. Most recently I was working on a project and modeling for a new fu ll figured clothing line, CURVATO by Nicci Gilbert-Daniels from the R&B group Brownstone.

C: You have three wonderfu l daughters. How do you balance being a mother w ith modeling and acting? V: Oh wow, it is very challenging with our hectic schedules. I am truly blessed

with som great f r 1 them I do n know w er am also glad at m~ augn rs have grown up in thi 路 ustry with ~ e~o they are used to going with me and they want for me to make it. They are so supportive and my biggest motivators an my inspirations.

C: Acting was your f irst love. How di you get into the plus modeling industry? V: I actually started modeling when was I was thirteen for a few years, but it was not until I moved Atlanta in 2006 that I actually started doing fash ion shows and worked my way up.

C: How was your experience in the US Army? Has it had any impact on your modeling career?

V: It was very challenging and definitely made me a diverse person with being able to adapt to different situations as in w ith my modeling career. The military is not for everyone.

C: We are all counting down to Full Figured Fashion Week! As the spokesmodel for the event. who are you looking for ward to interviewing on the red carpet? V: Well to be honest I am actually excited to meet all the different designers and models! We all look forward to seeing Venessa's beautifu l face throughout Full Fig ured Fashion Week beginning June 13, 2012. Congratulations Venessa!
