WHAT’S COMING UP IN OUR FALL 2013 SEMESTER FOR YOU!

EARN A HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY DEGREE, A MEDICAL CODING CERTIFICATE, OR BOTH! Prepare yourself for future employment in business and financial operations for healthcare organizations including hospitals, medical offices, clinics, long-term care facilities and insurance companies with a degree in Healthcare Management Technology (HMT). Learn how to plan, organize, direct, and control tasks related to healthcare organizational objectives. Emphasis is placed on the development of effective communication, managerial, and supervisory skills. The HMT degree is designed so that students can also take the required courses for their medical coding certificate while working on their HMT degree. After students receive their medical coding certificate, they are eligible to take the medical coding exam in order to become a Certified Professional Coder (CPC). Students may also take just the medical coding certificatecourses. HMT graduates are eligible to sit for various certification exams upon completion of the degree with a combination of a minimum of two years of experience. Eligible certifications include, but are not limited to, the Professional Association of Healthcare Office Managers (PAHCOM), the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the Certified Patient Account Manager (CPAM) and the Certified Manager of Patient Accounts (CMPA) examinations. Upon completion of the HMT program, PCC students will be prepared for business and financial employment opportunities in the healthcare field.
