of the places of the region, the regional police conducted search and rescue operations. It also resolved successfully the hostage crisis in Agusan del Sur. In the implementation of the special laws, 65 positive operations which were conducted on anti-illegal drugs resulted in the apprehension of 77 persons and confiscation of 3,791.4677 grams of dried Marijuana leaves, uprooting and burning of 532 Marijuana plants, crushing of 1,000 Marijuana seedlings and 38.57 grams of shabu all worth P 938, 230.55. In operation against illegal fishing, the regional police conducted 5,496 preventive operations, apprehended 55 persons and confiscated illegal fishing paraphernalia. It also had coordinated with the DENR in conduct32
ing 7,240 operations against illegal logging resulting in the arrest of 29 persons and the confiscation of several lumber and logs worth P 8,413, 148.94. It was also able to dismantle five illegal sawmills. As to its campaign against loose firearms, it accounted 63 high powered and 30 low powered firearms and apprehended 70 persons. The regional police also was able to neutralize five (5) most wanted persons and arrested 426 persons covered with warrants of arrest, to include a Korean national recently, one of Cebu’s most wanted personality. In upgrading its armaments and the procurement of logistical support, PRO 13 was able to purchase 8,356 ammunition for M16, 458 pieces long magazines for M16 and 72 pieces of magazines
