CORAN SPA New Location in Ekamai Proves Just the Tonic Although it takes its name from the Sanskrit word for ripple, the Coran Boutique Spa has just moved to a brand new Ekamai location with barely a ripple it would seem. The tranquil new setting is very close to Ekamai Road, but far enough away from Sukhumvit that a limousine service is in place to ferry customers to and from the Ekamai Skytrain station. All of the spa s fully trained therapists have made the move to the new location, and the business is running like clockwork, barely a month after the relocation. Six original Coran aroma massage oils are available for the benefit of customers, taken from 30 or so different essential oils. Coran runs its own therapist school, is authorised by the Ministry of Health, and teaches Thai traditional massage, foot reflexology, and aroma body treatments. Coran is open every day of the week, from 11 am to 10 pm. Words and photos by Paul Hutton.

Hua Hin

McFarland House: History on the Beach Unique Hua Hin Heritage Restaurant Provides a Relaxing Ambience

When Doctor McFarland started the construction of his new home overlooking the peaceful waters of the Gulf of Thailand around 80 years ago, he little could have dreamt of the impact his vision would have on future generations. His home has been reconstructed in magnificent fashion, using many of the original teak wood items, and transformed into a beautiful two storey open sided pavilion that is now one

of Hua Hin s finest bar restaurants. The award winning venue serves a tapas style menu throughout the day, and a highly popular champagne brunch every Sunday. Indeed, such is the acclaim, seats on a Sunday are at a premium, with the freshest seafood served up on beds of ice proving a winning attraction. For pure laid back ambience and style, the beach side establishment takes some beating, but the food on offer is highly prized too.
