TRAVEL TIP: Make photocopies of your travel documents. Leave a copy with a friend at home and take a copy with you.

“Many people think that we are a country-music show, or that young audiences won’t enjoy themselves,” says Meggan Sexton, Vice President of Operations, “and that couldn’t be further from the truth. We do some country music, but the reality is that this is a variety show, and we strive to entertain, no matter

your musical tastes.” The cast, which is renowned for their musical versatility, performs everything from Southern Gospel, to swing, to pop and rock classics. “If the question is, what do John Denver, James Taylor, Buck Owens and the Brian Setzer Orchestra have in common? The answer is AMT’s 2014 show,” says Sexton.

If you’re interested in a truly special dining experience, try the Mountain Explorer Dinner Train, while the New Tygart Flyer features two mountain grades, an “S” curve tunnel, and a trip to the pristine “High Falls of Cheat,” an 18-foot high waterfall in the West Virginia wilderness. AMT and the railroad offer special seasonal options that have become a tradition for so many families, including the extremely popular Polar Express, based on the beloved book by b Chris Van Allsburg and holiday C ffeature film.

In the past seven years, AMT’s exceptionally talented cast has brought home a total of four awards from the W.Va.’s Division of Tourism, and in 2013, AMT was awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for having a 5-star average rating on its site.
