The Black Bears are on the prowl as Pennsylvania Highlands' athletics have become an integral part of the College experience for our students and staff. The Black Bears of Pennsylvania Highlands do battle in both womenâ€™s volleyball and menâ€™s basketball. The Black Bears compete in the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (WPCC), with over 10 member institutions from the surrounding areas. In just a short amount of time the Black Bears have seen great success. Multiple winning seasons, playoff berths every year, all-conference players, and NJCAA scholar athletes are just a few of the accomplishments. Athletes often use our Athletics Department as a platform for advancement in collegiate athletics. Build character, in and out of the classroom! Get involved! Serving the needs of our students, Student Activities provides social, recreational, and educational options, all of which enhance the college experience. We take pride in knowing that the majority of our students can complete their degree without incurring student loan debt. In fact, according to the American Association of Community Colleges, students can save more than $5,000 per year by attending a community college compared to a four-year public college. ARE YOU READY TO BEGIN? Here are the steps necessary to apply. 1. Meet with a local admissions representative to discuss your options. 2. Complete an Admissions Application (online at www.pennhighlands.edu). 3. Send an official copy of your high school transcript or GED scores to Pennsylvania Highlands Community College. (Applicants with prior college experience must submit official transcript copies from all prior colleges.) 4. All admitted students must complete COMPASS testing. (This requirement may be waived for students who have completed prior college credits or have met specific ACT or SAT scores.) 5.
