WE BELIEVE

OneVoice Movement

Everyday people have a critical role to play in finding a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and yet their voices remain largely absent from the peace process. We empower the Palestinian and Israeli moderate majorities who support two states to hold their elected officials accountable to bring about an end to the conflict. Through OneVoice, young grassroots activists in Israel and Palestine are equipped with the knowledge and skills to be heard as they build momentum and a constituency for the two-state solution locally and internationally.

WE ARE THE GRASSROOTS EMPOWERING THE PEOPLE TO END THE CONFLICT

DEAR FRIENDS,

That’s why in 2015 we plan to boldly seize the historic opportunity presented by political and societal transformation in the region, harnessing our revitalized organizing model and our core philosophy of mobilizing moderates in order to defeat extremists, so that we can achieve profound change. Our activists represent the best and brightest of Israel and Palestine. Their parallel campaigns of the past year have both united and energized their communities through peaceful non-violent activities, channeling the support and momentum on the ground needed to establish the two-state solution. As we move forward, we will continue to tap into the muscle of the silent moderate majority on both sides with our refreshed data-driven strategy, which simultaneously empowers and trains our Youth Leaders to spearhead new initiatives and campaigns. Our strategic ladder of engagement means that our activists are given ownership of their role to end the conflict. Through this model, OneVoice will inspire a new generation of leaders who will not only hold their elected officials accountable, but also inject the fresh perspective needed to end the conflict and the occupation in their respective societies. We’ve witnessed success in our political organizing techniques before and we are confident in our capability

to capitalize on our previous wins so that we can generate a strong push for two states. Our best-in-class organizing skills, combined with our cutting-edge social media campaigns, will move forward the agenda for conflict resolution like never before and serve as the urgently needed vehicle for change. We are not naive. We understand the scale of the challenge and the terrible deterioration in trust, faith, and empathy that has accompanied this summer’s war and the violence that has grown in its wake. The tragic events of 2014 have served as a critical reminder of what happens when extremists’ voices overpower reason. Yet there is opportunity on the horizon: OneVoice Israel will be embarking on a groundbreaking campaign around the Israeli elections, whilst OneVoice Palestine is preparing to launch a wideranging effort to promote non-violence and state-building. We are determined to ensure that in the coming year moderates prevail, and we are grateful for your continued support of our mission. Just like you, our principles are enduring and they drive our efforts. There is no alternative but to fight to ensure that 2015 heralds the transformation that is necessary for peace to prevail. Together, we can succeed.

The OneVoice Team

OneVoice Movement

Here at the OneVoice Movement, we have always known that the only way to forge a just and lasting resolution to the conflict is through the power of the grassroots.

NEW STRATEGIES

OneVoice Movement

INCORPORATING A DATA-DRIVEN APPROACH

5

In response to the recent announcement of upcoming elections in Israel and the current environment surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, OneVoice will begin launching our new strategic plan to achieve two states through parallel campaigns in Palestine and Israel. These endeavors represent an informed, data-driven approach that builds on our past successes to cultivate and mobilize primed audiences while capturing the power of the Snowflake model (pictured at right). In Israel, our three-phase strategy is designed to mobilize the 1.5 million centrist Israeli voters with calls to action. Simultaneously, we will commence a media voter mobilization campaign that emphasizes the pivotal turning point these elections present. Informed by recommendations from 270 Strategies (Obama’s campaign team) we have spent the past year ramping up our organizing model and grassroots network to place ourselves in the position to capitalize on this significant moment.

Our strategy will enable us to develop the capacity, visibility, and communications expertise required to make sure this key centrist constituency prioritizes a swift resolution to the IsraeliPalestinian conflict. Moreover, in the dust of the summer’s violence and the consequent shifts in Palestinian public opinion on how to best end the occupation, OneVoice Palestine (OVP) has recognized the importance of reinforcing the notion of popular resistance in the conscious of the Palestinian people. “I Don’t Die for my Country… I Live for It” will be a five-month campaign aimed at promoting popular resistance, state-building, and the Arab Peace Initiative while advocating for an end to the conflict and a two-state solution along the 1967 borders. On both sides we will amplify our work with a communications plan that demonstrates to Israelis and Palestinians the existence of a viable, trustworthy partner across the Green Line.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

OneVoice Movement

The Youth Leadership Program (YLP) trains promising young Israelis and Palestinians to become engaged grassroots activists and provides a critical constructive outlet for the current youth frustration stemming from the existing political status quo. The Youth Leadership Program features a unique structure with two mainstream, nationalistic movements working in parallel in both Israel and Palestine.

7

Emphasis is based on participants gaining the skills to become successful political advocates for the twostate solution, who mitigate conflict at the grassroots level by mobilizing the moderate, non-violent majority in their communities. Youth Leaders spearhead unique activities—from town hall meetings that build consensus for tough compromises to public awareness campaigns that underscore the urgency of a peace agreement to initiatives that pressure leaders to take action to move the peace process forward.

Through participation in OneVoice’s Youth Leadership Program, young Israelis and Palestinians are not only equipped with the essential skills needed to become future institutional change makers, but also with the confidence and inspiration needed to realize the potential they hold within. The personal influence of the program is significant—as Palestinian Chapter Leader Amro Brigith said, OneVoice has served as the “path to changing my life and Palestinian life.” In parallel, OneVoice Israel Regional Coordinator Elad Laor reflected that the program has “concrete and significant impact on several levels.” OneVoice Youth Leaders are instrumental to shaping the future of Israel and Palestine into one that is both peaceful and prosperous.

OUR CAMPAIGNS IN PARALLEL This year, OneVoice launched the following campaigns in Israel and Palestine as part of an effort to support the negotiations, both of which were backed by the State Department and additionally made possible through funds received from the Skoll Foundation.

PEACE, IT ALSO PAYS OFF

9

This April, OneVoice Israel (OVI) launched its “Peace, It Also Pays Off campaign. The ongoing campaign mobilizes everyday Israelis to propel their leaders toward the two-state solution by reminding them of what is at stake and the choice Israel faces between continued conflict or a more secure and prosperous future.

WAKE UP: WHAT IS YOUR ROLE?

OneVoice Movement

Rolled out in November of 2013, OneVoice Palestine (OVP)launched a parallel campaign to rally support for Palestinian negotiators and wipe-away the apathy surrounding Palestinian involvement in the decisions impacting their everyday lives. To start, OVP chapters across the West Bank unfurled a banner over 1,000 meters long in the Jordan Valley signaling that peace is possible.

10

OUR CAMPAIGNS IN PARALLEL The “Abbas Not Hamas” and “Unity” campaigns we launched in response to Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. In Israel, our aim was to harness the people’s frustration in the untenable situation with Hamas. In Palestine, we sought to build unity behind a government that supports a twostate solution and an end to the status quo through negotiations.

“ABBAS NOT HAMAS”

11

This August, OVI supporters gathered to urge Israelis to support “Abbas not Hamas” - lest they squander the opportunity presented by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ nonviolent and pro two-state solution agenda.

UNITY campaign also aimed to emphasize that the Jordan Valley is to remain under Palestinian control. Activists engaged with the local communities to encourage continued support for the conversation online and in the streets.

In parallel to OVI, OVP activists across Hebron, Nablus, Bethlehem, Qalqilia, Jericho, and Jenin launched the Unity campaign. INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMING OUTREACH & EDUCATION

Our 90-minute school sessions have included activities to promote general conflict under standing and conflict resolution and the application of these principles to the IsraeliPalestinian conflict. The sessions have en couraged exploration of a variety of possible solutions, while giving some background on the historical narrative of each side on the issues that lie at the heart of the conflict. Reallife experiences and aspirations of people who are living through the conflict have also been

featured. These stories were either shown on video, or told in person by our visiting Israeli and Palestinian Youth Leaders from the region. Students also benefit from the unique opportunity to ask questions directly to those people living in the region and/ or those involved in working for conflict resolution in Israel/Palestine. In the United States, several activities were held to further educate the American public on the conflict at synagogues, universities, and community centers. Speaking events included participation in the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation Conference as well as on a J Street panel discussion on the region. Additionally, supporters gathered at the Scandinavia House in New York on November 12th for an insider’s discussion of the summer’s events with Amb. Marc Ginsberg, Rula Jebreal, and Aaron David Miller.

OneVoice Movement

OneVoice Europe’s Outreach and Education Programme is transforming the attitudes of school students and inspiring constructive adult activism on the issue of Israel-Palestine in the United Kingdom. Four speaking tours have been conducted over the past year, which brought eight young Palestinians and Israelis to the UK. Additional sessions and events were made possible using a live video link to speakers in Israel and Palestine. Over 2,000 people have participated in the discussions and educational programs in 2013-14, with over 400 still engaged with Israelis and Palestinians online. Twenty of these best and brightest young minds have since been trained to go out and in turn activate their peer network.
