March 27, 1982, wins AIAW Division II national championship with 92-83 win over College of Charleston in Charleston, SC 1982, moves from AIAW affiliation to NAIA affiliation

She is believed to be the only collegiate cage coach to win national championships under three different affiliations (AIAW, NAIA, NCAA). She is a member of the FMU Athletic Hall of Fame, and has supported the university through her Sylvia Hatchell Francis Marion University Golf Challenge, held during the summer at the Country Club of South Carolina. In June 2004, she was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn.

Lacey served as both general manager and head coach of the WNBA’s Charlotte Sting for several seasons. Following two years as head coach at FMU, the former N.C. State star coached for eight seasons at the University of South Florida, and later worked with USA Basketball.

March 5, 2006, loses to GC&SU 89-83 in double overtime in the Peach Belt Tournament title game telecast on regional television

1998, Wes Moore accepts UTC (Tennessee-Chattanooga) head coaching position, replaced by Lee Buchanan Nov. 1998, wins prestigious Disney Tip-Off Classic in Florida

March 2008, FMU shares PBC regular-season title, earns invitation to NCAA Tournament and hosts the South Atlantic Regional. Also leads nation in scoring offense and steals.
