Academic Coordinator 6th Season at Pittsburgh Alma Mater: Pittsburgh at Johnstown,1999 Hometown: Meyersdale, PA

Media Relations Assistant 2nd Season at Pittsburgh Alma Mater: Hiram College, 2006 Hometown: Youngstown, OH Paul Pancoe enters his second year with the Pitt media relations staff and will work primarily with the women’s basketball, men’s soccer and women’s tennis teams. Pancoe comes to Pitt after a two-year stint at Eastern Michigan University where he served as a graduate assistant, working with the Eagles’ wrestling, baseball, gymnastics and tennis teams. During that time, EMU’s baseball team won the 2008 Mid-American Conference Tournament, advancing to the NCAA Regional Championships and the gymnastics team won the 2007 MAC Championship. While at Pitt, several of Pancoe’s publications have earned national honors. His 2009 baseball media guide was voted best in district while his 2008-09 wrestling media guide was ranked fifth best in the nation. Pancoe earned a bachelor of science degree in management with a concentration in finance from Hiram College in 2006 and a sports management master’s degree from Eastern Michigan in 2008. Pancoe played four years of college football and was also a member of the track and field and golf teams while at Hiram.

Meghan

Bielich

Video Coordinator 4th Season at Pittsburgh Alma Mater: Clarion University, 2006 Hometown: Bethel Park, PA Meghan Bielich enters her fourth season with the Panthers’ women’s basketball staff serving as the Video Coordinator. She handles all aspects in the video department for the Panthers, including film exchange, scout tapes and highlight videos. Meghan also assists the coaching staff with mailings to recruits and coaches and plays a large role in assisting with official and unofficial visits by recruits to the Pitt camps. Bielich comes to Pitt from WCUB-TV in Clarion, Pa., where she held numerous positions in the sports department including serving as a sideline reporter, producer, editor, writer, director and color analyst from 2002-2006. The Bethel Park native also served as a manager/student coach for the women’s basketball team at Clarion University during the same time period. While in Clarion, Pa., Bielich interned in the sports department at WTAETV in Pittsburgh and with ESPN in Bristol, Conn., during the summer of 2005. Bielich earned her bachelor of arts and science degree in communications, graduating in May 2006 from Clarion University.

In five years as the academic coordinator for the women’s basketball team, Jennifer Tuscano has made a dramatic impact. All women’s basketball studentathletes that have completed their eligibility have also earned their degree under Tuscano’s tenure. Jen pushes student-athletes to not only reach their goals, but surpass expectations set upon them. For her hard work and dedication, she was awarded the Charles S. Miller Award for exceptional commitment, teamwork and pride in the pursuit of the athletic department’s goals this year. In addition to her responsibilities as academic coordinator, Tuscano joined the Panthers’ radio broadcast team in the 2005-06 season as a color analyst. Tuscano joins the Panthers after serving as the Director of Athletics at Meyersdale Area School District. She was responsible for scheduling all athletic events, as well as directing and supervising after school tutoring programs for student-athletes. She also served as Head Coach of the Meyersdale Area Junior High Girl’s Basketball team from 1997-2004. She was also a member of the Meyersdale Athletic Boosters, the PIAA District 5 Committee and the Pennsylvania State Education Association. Tuscano received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 1999, where she spent four years on the women’s basketball team. She recently completed her Master’s Degree in Sports Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Crystal Orr Crystal Orr is a sophomore entering her second year as a student manager. Along with Winters, Orr also helps with stats as well as managing the clock during practices and making sure the team has equipment and apparel at away games. Orr plans to major in marketing and minor in economics while enrolled in the College of Business Administration. She is a graduate of Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth, NJ.

Mary Jo Winters Mary Jo Winters is returning for her third season a part of the Women’s Basketball staff as a student manager. Her tasks include working with the Director of Basketball Operations while traveling, helping with the setup of practice and keeping statistics during games and practices. She is a junior and is currently enrolled in the School of Education pursuing a degree in exercise science. Winters is from Lovettsville, Va. and is a graduate of Bishop O’Connell High School.
