Speakers listed in alphabetical order. Linda Apsley is the Director of Program Management in the Business Online Services Group at Microsoft where she manages an engineering team working on Microsoft’s business cloud strategy, technology, and governance model. She is responsible for designing the technical interfaces and operational processes for moving engineering teams from delivering on-premises software to delivering in the cloud. Her team also manages operations environment integration among services. Linda has over 20 years of experience in the information technology and software industry. She is actively involved in building technical women’s communities and championing the growth of women into leadership positions. Linda is the recipient of the One Microsoft Award for her executive presentations at the Microsoft Executive Briefing Center and is a frequent technical and professional growth speaker at both technical and leadership conferences. Guillaume Caunegre, Osteopath D.O., is Founder of the Osteotherapeutics Institute™ and an expert in Life Education for Business. His system of treatment and conditioning management involves a core method of “one to one in group.” This method invites participants to explore their “brain & body functions and patterns” thus enabling leaders, artists, and sport personalities to reactivate their individual excellence and to widen their practice of personal life skills and success strategies. Many of his clients hold Olympic and world titles and still consult him for performance and excellence. Guillaume is now offering his state of the art brain performance and stress management approaches at the SAUDER School of Business – University of British Columbia and is currently developing custom-made programs for top 10 business schools in the US and Europe. Drude Dahlerup is Professor of Political Science at the University of Stockholm. She is an expert for www. iKNOWPolitics.org, the International Knowledge Network for Women in Politics, and Editor of the global website under electoral gender quotas, www.quotaproject.org, together with International IDEA and Inter-Parliamentary Union, IPU. Ms. Dahlerup is also a member of the Swedish think-tank Agora, as well as Chair of the Danish thinktank NyAgenda. She has written and edited, as well as contributed to, a vast number of books and articles, including “Gender Quotas in Politics - A Constitutional Challenge,” Women, Quotas, and Politics, and Equality Policy as Discourse and Practice. Her current research involves electoral gender quotas, gendered citizenship in a multicultural Europe, and the future of representative democracy. Cited by Forbes as one of 30 women entrepreneurs to follow on Twitter, Jill Foster’s work has been in conversation in The Washington Post, Huffington Post, Guardian UK, Washingtonian Magazine, and a range of media outlets. Co-founder of DC Media Makers and a social tech enthusiast, she teaches communications through community engagement in the Washington, DC area as Live Your Talk’s Principal. Helping women entrepreneurs and technologists communicate in awesome, distinct ways online through social networks and offline through public speech, Jill is Founding Editor of the blog community Women Grow Business - a top ranked blog on social media and marketing. And in 2008, she fulfilled a lifelong dream as a “Big Tent” credential blogger for the Democratic National Convention.

John Holcomb is CEO and Co-founder of Outrigger3,

an emerging media company based in Madison, Wisconsin. Outrigger3 helps organizations understand and effectively leverage the unique opportunities presented to them by new media. John’s expertise is in tailoring and implementing emerging media campaigns and forecasting the next wave of new media opportunities for his clients. Whether it’s connecting with a consumer on a hyper local level or mass collaborating with audiences on a global level, Outrigger3 outfits its clients with the tools, knowledge and strategy necessary to connect with their targets and build sustainable, actionable relationships. Some of John’s work has included setting digital strategy for a national restaurant chain, a global biotech company, a film festival, and a U.S. Senatorial campaign.

Laraine Kaminsky has lived on three continents and worked in over 70 countries. She is an energetic and engaging speaker and a recognized leader in the fields of global diversity, cross-cultural awareness, language training, mentoring, and consulting. Given her vast experience, she is a sought-after speaker on the importance of intercultural and global diversity effectiveness. She has authored many articles on these subjects and has been a repeat presenter at many international conferences including ASAE, the IMF, SHRM, and NALP among others. Laraine has launched her own company, GlobalLK, to continue her international work in the fields of diversity and inclusion and cross-cultural competence. She works with many corporate clients, including Fortune 500 companies as well as the public sector, associations, and non-profits. Kathryn Mayer joined Women’s World Banking in March 2010 as the Director for the Center for Microfinance Leadership. She has a proven 20 year track record of coaching business professionals, guiding companies through transformative change, and designing learning systems to transition professionals into new roles, develop leaders, enhance team dynamics, and change behavior. Ms. Mayer was President of KC Mayer Consulting, Inc. from 2003 to 2009 which provided sophisticated and customized leadership development solutions for Fortune 100 to 1000 companies. She published her first book in April 2009, Collaborative Competition™: A Woman’s Guide to Succeeding by Competing. Frank McCloskey serves as Vice President of

Diversity for Georgia Power. Mr. McCloskey oversees the development and implementation of strategies that help sustain a culture of excellence through inclusion by improving leadership and work culture. He also serves as a Company Review Officer, with binding decision authority to determine formal employee complaint cases through an alternative dispute resolution process. Mr. McCloskey is a graduate of the Diversity Leadership Academy of Atlanta and the Regional Leadership Institute. In 2009, the American Institute for Managing Diversity presented McCloskey its 25th Anniversary Diversity Leader Award.

Kay M. Schwichtenberg is the President and CEO of Central Life Sciences, a company specializing in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of animal health products to veterinary, equine, and consumer pet markets. Ms. Schwichtenberg’s expertise and career have centered on the profitable blending of technology and marketing to deliver highly specialized science based products to both consumer and business-tobusiness markets. Her diverse background in both technology development and business gives her a unique view of the global marketplace. Ms. Schwichtenberg is a member of the Committee of 200, a professional organization of America’s preeminent women business leaders.


Jennifer Smith is the Director of Communications and Marketing for Thrive, the Madison Wisconsin Region Economic Development Enterprise. As a part of this work, Jennifer has been conducting presentations and trainings on social and collaborative media for regional businesses and organizations, economic development and planning professionals, and governmental units for the past two years. Jennifer’s background is in editorial project management and IT; her specialty area is the convergence of communications and technology.

Aili Mari Tripp is Professor of Political Science and Gender & Women’s Studies at the University of WisconsinMadison. She is also Director of the Women’s Studies Research Center. She is completing a book entitled, Gender, Power and Peacemaking in Africa and has co-authored with Isabel Casimiro, Joy Kwesiga and Alice Mungwa a book entitled African Women’s Movements: Transforming Political Landscapes (2009). Tripp is the incoming Vice President and President-Elect of the African Studies Association.

Stephanie Streeter is an accomplished CEO and

Tammy Thayer is President of the Center for Advanced Studies in Business, Inc., a nonprofit affiliated with the Wisconsin School of Business. Tammy has full P&L responsibility and is Chair of the Board of Directors. Her work involves building partnerships between public and private organizations and executive education. She has more than 25 years of experience with public, private, and international companies. Tammy spent 13 years in Italy where she worked as a Consultant for Hewitt Associates and for Nestlé Perugina in Human Resources. She also lived in Dubai for 5 years where she set up and led 2 of the largest conference providers in the world- IBC Gulf Conferences and the Institute for International Research. She has a MBA from Boston University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UW-Madison.

Jill Foster, Co-founder of DC Media Makers Through a few different careers and social tech experiments, one business owner became a social media addict. And in the process, a new affinity for building and engaging communities gave way. In this session, the story of one entrepreneur’s social media life (...which one Guardian UK producer called “quirky but cool”) sheds light on how digital innovation made an impact on her day-to-day (and what that meant for short and long term relationship management in the social sphere).
