27/ The Abbey of Stavelot

The Abbey of Stavelot, oldest Abbey of Belgium, lies embedded in a magnificent region where water is omnipresent: by the river Amblève and the nearby waterfalls of Coo. In the 7th century, the abbey, formerly known as the St. Remacle abbey, became the centre of the Principality of Stavelot-Malmedy. The abbey was demolished during the French Revolution, but luckily it got a second life, thanks to the efforts of the Walloon region. Three museums have found themselves a home here. All of them are classified 5 suns which means that they are part of the top attractions of Wallonia. The historical museum of the Principality of StavelotMalmedy with his brand new part about the abbot Wibald. The museum of Guillaume Apollinaire is the only museum in the world dedicated to this poet, according to Pierre Erler, marketing manager at the abbey. Around this time of the year, you can as well gaze upon a continuously changing collection of wellfunctioning race cars in the Francorchamps race-track museum. For your meeting or event, take place in authentic rooms such as the Monks’ Refectory, or the Cellar of the Blancs Moussis. 28/ Eastbelgium Eastbelgium is a land of vacation on the very line between the Latin and Germanic cultures.
