Mr. M Snyder is an a experience ed marine ecollogist and fish biologist. He has h managed and participated in ichthyofa aunal surveyss of freshwaterr, estuarine, sh helf, and a coral reef habitats. He has h sampled ffish from a varriety of habitatts ranging from m the continental c slo ope to freshwater streams fo or various enviironmental asssessments and monitoring m stud dies. Mr. Sny yder has visua lly censused ffish assemblag ges off southe east and a southwestt Florida, the Federated F Stattes of Microne esia, Grand Ca ayman Island,, and the Bahamas using u quantitative and qualittative methodss. He surveye ed fishes asso ociated with w hard botto om areas subje ect to impact ffrom dredge a and fill projectss off the eastern and western w Florida a coasts. He has monitorin g reef fish asssemblages on nearshore na atural and a artificial re eefs for the tow wn of Palm Be each and Palm m Beach County Florida. He e has characterized c fish f assemblages on a deep p reef trend in the northern G Gulf of Mexico o from videotapes v tak ken by a remottely operated vvehicle. He iss currently worrking with colleagues c at the t Florida Mu useum of Natu ural History to assemble a co omprehensive e liisting and assessment of marine fishes off southwest Fllorida and the Florida Keys. He recently r studie ed the respons se of fish asse emblages to wa ater flows and d levels in the Loxahatchee L River, R Florida, using electroffishing gear fo or the South Fllorida Water Management M District. D He is currently inve estigating habitat utilization b by newly settle ed fishes on nears shore hard bo ottom habitats in Palm Beach County, Florida for the Flo orida Department D off Environmenta al Protection. Mr. Snyder iss also managin ng an indepen ndent monitoring m pro ogram for seag grass-associatted fishes in th he vicinity of Jupiter Inlet, Florida. He H has particip pated in coral reef damage a assessment a and restoration n projects in so outh Florida, F the Flo orida Keys, an nd the Federatted States of M Micronesia. Mr. M Snyder has s worked with commercial fiishermen asse essing the imp pacts of shrimp trawling on ins shore fish popu ulations in Flo rida. He also has investigatted the life hisstory of the bigeye sca ad, an importan nt baitfish in ssouthern Florid da. He has pa articipated as a Chief C Field Sciientist on num merous photodo ocumentation surveys in the e Gulf of Mexico and a off the Atla antic coast. Mr. M Snyder ma naged field eff fforts that inclu uded trawling, sediment s profile imaging, an nd grab sampliing for assesssments of sand d deposits pro oposed as a borrow sites s for beach no ourishment offs fshore of Alaba ama, Florida, New Jersey, N New York, Y and Nortth Carolina.
