Prayer for Vocations Loving God, You speak to us and nourish us through the life of this church community. In the name of Jesus, we ask you to send your Spirit to us so that men and women among us, young and old, will respond to your call to service and leadership in the church. We pray, especially, in our day, for those who hear your invitation to be a priest, sister, brother, or deacon. May those who are opening their hearts and minds to your call be encouraged and strengthened through our enthusiasm in your service. Amen

In recognition of this Year of Consecrated Life, the CWL Archdiocesan Council has compiled a list of all religious sisters in the diocese. Specific days of the month have been assigned to each one and a prayer for the Consecrated Life is included. Please pick up a copy at the entrance of the church.

The Sacrament of the Sick

Ideally celebrated in community, the Sacrament of the Sick will be Thursday, May 14 at 2:30 pm. Those who are seriously ill, those of advanced age, those undergoing serious surgery or treatment and those in danger of death are invited. All who are baptized Catholics are candidates for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Let us joyfully celebrate the healing of the Lord through His Church.

Blue Envelopes

Next Sunday is the first Sunday of May. You could get the month off to a good start by making your usual generous contribution to the Parish Building Restoration Fund.

WANTED: Volunteers for Parish Grounds Cleanup This Sat. May 2, we have our annual spring cleanup of the Parish grounds. Please join us between 9 a.m. and noon. Bring a rake and a smile and let’s get the grounds ready for the warm weather ahead. For those parishioners who cannot come on Saturday, how about coming for an hour during the week … pick out an area on the lawn … rake the debris into piles … we’ll bag and take that material to recycling. First Quarter Financial Summary 1. General first quarter Revenues 2. Capital Revenue 3. General first quarter Expenses 4. Surplus

$71,486.52 $ 8,196.00 $74,345.38 $ 5,337.14

The first quarter is very close to budget expected for the general receipts and expenditures, and while the Capital Building fund is slightly lower these funds are not normally received evenly over the 4 quarters and as such we are confident in reaching all our goals especially considering the sold out Titanic fund raiser in May. Examples of actual 1st quarter costs include $4,232.96 for snow removal and $7,729.01 for utilities. The last two winters have been very difficult for us and we appreciate the parishioners who have stepped up to our needs in meeting these additional expenditures. “We thank you for your continued support of the parish’s financial health.

Knights of Columbus Council 7224 will be present at the 9:30

AM Mass on May 3rd to celebrate their Corporate Communion. This is an opportunity for our parish community to see who the Knights are as individuals, along with their families. If any men 18 years old and up would be interested in joining the Knights of Columbus, members will happily discuss this with those men after Mass. Thank you and God Bless our Parish home.
