NAVAL RESEARCH ENTERPRISE INTERN Internship Description: The Naval Research Enterprise Intern Program (NREIP), provides an opportunity for students to participate in research at a Department of Navy (DoN) laboratory during the summer. The goals of the NREIP are to encourage participating students to pursue science and engineering careers, to further education via mentoring by laboratory personnel and their participation in research, and to make them aware of DoN research and technology efforts, which can lead to employment within the DoN. WEB DESIGNER Internship Description: Update and maintain web site for an online arts magazine, Newport Review (newportreview.org). Design new web pages, update other pages, proofread and check links, and create an online archive of past stories, poems and photography. The site was originally created in Dreamweaver but now uses an open-source CMS. Opportunities for further freelance work later; great experience for your resume. Qualifications: Must be reliable, able to meet deadlines and proficient in web content management systems and have experience in web site design and blogging. Editing, proofreading and photo editing skills preferred. Mac experience is helpful, as is owning a laptop. You will begin the project w/some supervision, but should be able to transition to working independently.
