LEAVING A LEGACY

Ocean County College is an institution that uses its resources carefully and prudently, yet also plans for growth and development so we are ready to meet the ever-evolving needs of the community.

You can help us achieve this goal by including the Ocean County College Foundation in your overall financial and estate plan. A planned gift can have immediate benefits for you and can help the Foundation prepare tomorrow’s students for the world.

LEGACY GIVING

Your gift to the Ocean County College Foundation can allow you to hold an interest in that gift for your lifetime or for a specified term of years. After that time, the funds become available to the College.

You may get several tax advantages, including charitable deductions for income, gift, and estate taxes. In many cases, you may also avoid a capital gains tax. Please consult your tax advisor to determine what tax deductions may apply to you.

Viking

Ocean County College has a rich tradition of excellence in the classroom, community, and on the playing field. Quality team athletic programs have been the backbone of the college since its inception as the first county college in New Jersey in 1964. OCC Viking student-athletes are part of a program of state and national prominence. We have been consistently ranked among the top 10 community college athletic programs in the nation and have won national, regional, and conference awards for sportsmanship, community service, and academic and athletic excellence.

Veterans

OCC is committed to helping veterans succeed with our Veteran and Military Resource Center (VMRC). OCC’s VMRC provides social, educational, recreational, mentoring, advocacy, leadership, and academic support services designed to ensure veteran well-being, success, retention, and graduation.

A dedicated office and staff work exclusively with veteran and military-affiliated students to achieve their goals at the VMRC. Additionally, many of OCC’s faculty and staff are veterans themselves, so our students can be confident that we know what it takes to help veterans succeed.

Affairs
THE TRANSITION FROM MILITARY TO CIVILIAN LIFE CAN BE ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT CHALLENGES VETERANS FACE.

Workforce and

Education

The OCC Department of Workforce and Professional Education’s business engagement team works with large and small public entities and private employers to provide training for employees and management, customized to an employer’s individual needs. In many cases, these programs are grant-funded and tuition-free. The OCC Foundation provides additional grant support to students enrolled in WPE certificate programs in the Health Sciences generously underwritten by the H. Hovnanian WPE Grant at Ocean County College.

Professional

Ocean County College is home to the only two-year college sailing program in the Northeast!

The OCC SAFE Sailing program is dedicated to the proposition that sailing is for everyone! We offer a fun, beginner sailing experience to the community that is directed towards non-sailors using fully accessible docks and boats for people unfamiliar with sailing and boating.

OCC’s Intercollegiate Sailing Team is topranked in New Jersey and competes against schools like Monmouth, UPenn, Delaware, Villanova, Drexel, and Princeton. The College is committed to providing a first-class sailing experience and training ground for our future skippers and crew members in Ocean County.
