LaSalle University in Philadelphia—Majors: Criminal Justice and Sociology, Minor: Eastern Religions. What do you like about working at NU? My favorite things are the amazing CA staff in J1F, great AC comrades and the beautiful beachfront location of my area. What is the best part about your area/building? How each of my buildings has a different personality. I especially love working with faculty in the residential colleges. What are you excited to work on during the year? Planning formals, holding outdoor events once the weather cooperates, and continued facilities renovations. What is your favorite thing to do in your downtime? It’s a tie between training for marathons and exploring Chicago through food; I can’t do one without the other! What is your best piece of advice for Northwestern students? Be open to your path changing. I went into college and law school with a detailed plan for my life and it’s worked out very differently (for the better). Don’t be afraid to listen to your gut, even for big decisions. Do you have any fun Spring Break plans? My mom is visiting from MA and we are planning to finish painting and begin decorating the home I recently purchased in Chicago. Coffee or tea? Chai. Morning Person or Night Owl? Both—I only need 4-5 hours of sleep. Cats or dogs? Haaaave you met Daphne? Cubs or Sox? Notre Dame football! Thin crust or deep dish pizza? I love both. Meet the Res Services Staff Name: Lajja Patel CA in Bobb McCulloch Hometown: Chicago, IL Siblings: One sister and one parrot! Year: So. Major: Psychology What is your favorite thing about Northwestern? I love the scenery on campus. Sometimes I like walking to the rocks, sitting and enjoying the view of the seemingly distant city. What are your goals for the year? Running more, writing more poems, and having more time to choreograph dances! What is the best part about your area/building? I absolutely love the people, including our AC, my fellow CAs and my residents! They’re all so lively, caring and fun to be around. Bobb is, by far, the best place to live on campus. What groups/organizations are you involved in? I’m involved in COPE (Cancer Outreach Prevention Education) and I spend a considerable amount of time with my dance team, Deeva Dance Troupe. What is your favorite thing to do in your downtime? I love playing recreational soccer and dancing! I also enjoy spending time with my residents. I’m pretty tight with some of them. Do you have any Spring Break plans? Catching up with friends and sleep, watching movies and reading books. Coffee or tea? Neither...milk. Morning Person or Night Owl? I’m an owl, though I wish I were a morning lark! Cats or dogs? Parrots. Cubs or Sox? Cubs. Thin crust or deep dish pizza? Deep dish! Be part of the solution. Save a life. Join the Red Watch Band!
