HOW YOUR MONEY WILL HELP Harry is a pupil at Holywell Village First School in Northumberland. In 2013, the eight year old took part in the Foundation’s Match Fit programme along with the rest of his Year 4 class. Harry has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. Helped by Foundation staff, Harry fully participated in the programme demonstrating an improved knowledge of health and nutrition after six weeks. Harry was also asked by Barclays to present Alan Pardew with his ‘Manager of the Month’ award in December 2013. ‘Match Fit’ is a six week fitness, football and nutrition course targeting disadvantaged children in primary schools, teaching them about the importance of leading an active lifestyle and eating a balanced diet. The project aims to change behaviour at a critical age, giving children the confidence and skills to make their own positive healthy lifestyle choices.
