CHOW YUN FAT

“I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH FROM ALL ACTORS AND ACTRESS, WHETHER YOUNG OR OLD. THIS IS BECAUSE EACH OF THEM HAS DIFFERENT ACTING TECHNIQUES AND STYLES”.

T

he Last Tycoon is a 2012 romantic gangster movie by Hong Kong director, Wang Jing. For anyone who remembers the iconic 1980s TVB series The Bund, The Last Tycoon will do more than reminding you of old Shang-

hai in 1930s, chronicling the power struggle between influential local figures. It tells the story of Shanghai's last gang leader before the founding of the People's Republic of China. Everyone's favorite big superstar, Chow Yun Fat is returning to play the

older Cheng an infamous mob boss in turn-of-the-century China. Still, it is Chow's steadfast performance, polished with undying charisma and undiminished screen presence that sets this film apart from the pretenders, further cementing why he is still an Asia's go-to marquee star, elevating the performances of co-stars like Huang to an entirely different level.
