Andrew Rico is no stranger to Northwest Vista College. He was only eleven years old when he joined the Children’s Enrichment Program as a summer camp volunteer. A few years later, while attending Communications Arts High School, Andrew managed to earn 19 college credit hours from Northwest Vista through our Dual Credit program. When the time came to enter college, Andrew was accepted by every college and university to which he applied: Trinity University, St. Mary’s University, St. Edwards University, Mary-Hardin Baylor University, Baylor University, and Austin College. Andrew chose Northwest Vista College and is proud of his decision. “I think Vista was the smart choice to make because it allows me to get the same education as my friends but for thousands of dollars less.” Andrew is especially grateful that most of his classes are under 25 students which allows for personal interaction with instructors and classmates. “NVC is unique at creating an atmosphere of diversity and giving every individual student a chance to learn.” Andrew is determined to earn his associate’s degree in one year by increasing his course load, attending summer classes and a Maymester session. “I find the education at NVC to be equal to that of universities, which solidifies my decision to attend this college.”
