Space and materials are limited. Ice Cream’s On Us! Get out of the heat and decorate your own sundae in celebration of National Ice Cream Month. 2 PM (Family) 8 Tue. Bats of the World! Discover the diversity of bats from around the world with Denise Tomlinson from Bat World of Hampton Roads and meet some of her flying friends in person! 2 PM (Family) 27 Tue. Heart of a Hero Art Program Hear a compelling story about Dex the Superdog, a little dog with a large heart and the bravery to match. Afterwards, make your own animal superhero. 4:30 PM (School Age) 10 Thu. Spin, Pop, Boom with Mad Science June 3 Tue. What is Your Actual Size? How big is the largest spider? The tiniest fish? See and learn about some of the world’s most amazing animals, and then make an actual size version of yourself! 4 PM (Toddlers & Preschool) Watch in awe as our mad scientist defies gravity and presents spectacular experiments with didgeridoo tubes, foaming hands and steaming chemical reactions! 2 PM (Family) 15 Tue. Art with the Chrysler Create a fun art project and listen to a story with staff from the Chrysler Museum of Art! 2 PM (Family) 17 Thu. Play: “Around the World in 80 Days!” Children’s Theatre of Hampton Roads Laugh until you drop with an afternoon of unusual storytelling presented by the Bucket of Monkeys improv comedy troupe! 2 PM (Family) 24 Tue. SRP Kickoff with Krendl the Magician Be dazzled and amazed by the magic, illusions and the uncanny way Krendl engages the audience! 2 PM (Family) 26 Thu. Meet Virginia Animals with Nature’s Calling Learn about native Virginia animals with Penny Lazauskas of Nature’s Calling and meet some of her animal friends in person! 2 PM (Family) 22 Tue. Shark Secrets 28 Sat. Tintabulations Handbell Choir The Virginia Living Museum’s Discovery Box Shark week is just around the corner! Before you head to the beach, come poke around the VLM’s discovery box. You’ll find real shark jaws, shark vertebrae, shark skin and fossil shark teeth, shark embryos and eggs, and more! 2 PM (Family) This impressive group of ringers from sunny Reno, Nevada, will perform music ranging from classic church hymns and jazz, to showtunes and Disney! 11 AM (Family) August 26 Tue. Storyteller Lynn Ruehlmann: “Hug a Bug” How do bugs get huggable? You’ll find out in stories and songs with Lynn and her puppet friends, Shoe Fly and his buddy, Sox! 2 PM (Family) July Author Visit: Danielle Leibovici “Under the Tree” Tuesday, July 1 @ 2 PM Listen to local author Danielle Leibovici read her award-winning book “Under the Tree” and do a fun activity!
