Enjoy face painting, balloon making and other fun with Gracie the Clown and friends! 3 PM (All Ages) A Visit from the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk Learn about animals and their habitats, and see live animal presentations! 2 PM (All Ages, 5+) 31 Thu. Cool Treats! *While supplies last! Beat the heat with a cool ice cream treat in celebration of National Ice Cream Month. 2 PM - 4 PM (Family) “PAWS” to READ Afternoon Storytime The Friends of the Norfolk Animal Care Center Thursday, June 26 @ 2:30 PM Listen to tail-wagging animal stories and learn about animal adoption. Bring your donation of a small blanket, toy or treats for our animal friends! (All Ages) 27 Fri. Magic and Illusions with John Kingry Witness a variety of interactive magical effects including animals and illusions! 2 PM (All Ages) July 3 Thu. Jon Norton’s Amazing Street Show Jon’s fast-paced show includes spectacular feats of juggling and astonishing stunts that are sure to leave the audience amazed! 2 PM (All Ages) 10 Thu. Concert: “Welcome Back C. Shells!” Gather for family-fun music with this children’s musical duo, comprised of Cindy Kays and Shelly Potter. 2 PM (All Ages) 17 Thu. Stories with Bob Walsh and Friends TREK for Civility Event Renowned ventriloquist Bob Walsh and his friends share interesting stories and life lessons on kindness and civility. 2 PM (All Ages) 24 Thu. Introduction to Native Wildlife of Virginia Nature’s Calling presents: “Wild for Wildlife” Learn about wildlife found in Virginia using visual effects in teaching conservation and animal identification. Meet some of Virginia’s live native wildlife! 2 PM (All Ages) 30 Wed. Elephant and Piggie Storytime Spend an afternoon reading and having fun with children’s book characters Elephant and Piggie! 2 PM (Family) August 2 Sat. Summer Reading Program Wrap-up with River the Reading Ranger Pick up your incentives and record your final reading minutes to be entered into the big prize drawing! Volunteers will be on hand to assist! Meet special guest River the Reading Ranger! 2 PM - 4 PM (Family) Teen Wii Play *Game ratings must be appropriate Mondays @ 4 PM - 5:30 PM (August 4, 11 & 18) Bring your gaming skills and challenge your friends! You may use your own games (at your risk and game rating must be approved by library staff).
