The Teeny Tiny Farm (Mobile Petting Zoo) Enjoy stories and songs while learning about what animals live on a farm, and then visit with our teeny weeny farm friends. 10:30 AM (Preschool & School Age) Blyden Branch Library August Anansi Tales: Readers Theatre Practices: Mondays @ 4 PM (May 5 - August 11) Performance: Saturday, August 16 @ 11 AM Lights, camera, action! Calling all actors, actresses and producers—help us bring to life the story of Anansi, the African spider who loved to get into trouble, through a readers theatre production! (Family) 28 Sat. Cold Paws (Animal Mysteries and Crimes) Take part in an ultimate scavenger hunt and crime scene rolled into one! Join Fantastic Mr. Fox, Bad Kitty and other furry friends in solving mysteries and crimes! 11 AM (School Age) Ongoing Gaming Last Wednesdays @ 3 PM (May 28; June 25; July 30 & August 27) It’s on! Bring your skills and compete with friends. (Tweens & Teens) 30 Mon. Publish Me! (Personalized Magazine Covers) Have you ever wanted to be on a magazine cover? Let our green screen make you a superstar, and take home your own personalized magazine cover! 2 PM (Tweens & Teens) July 2 Wed. Art with Ms. M.A.L. (Mobile Art Lady) Design a dog tag for your animal or jewelry for you. All supplies will be provided and registration is required. 10:30 AM (School Age) WizKidz (Summer Session) Fridays @ 2 PM (June 20 - August 22) *Registration is required. Space is limited! Club 23 Wed. The Drum Lady: Connie Ralston Let’s make some noise! Bang on a drum while listening to Connie’s stories, and learn about drums, songs and rhythms from faraway lands. 10:30 AM (School Age) 16 Wed. Crazy about STEM! Mad Science of Hampton Roads (SOL based) Spark your child’s imagination with wacky and fun hands-on science and engineering experiments. This program meets Virginia’s Standards of Learning and STEM curriculum requirements! 10:30 AM (School Age) Have fun with everything S.T.E.A.M! That is Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, tied in with stories, activities, experiments and more! (School Age & Tweens) Reading Buddies (Summer Session) 19 Sat. Upcycled Fashion Show Explore how to create thrifty fashion looks for any budget. 12 PM (Tweens & Teens) Mondays @ 11 AM (June 23 - August 18) Calling all teens! Make a friend and volunteer to help children ages 5-8 improve their reading skills. (School Age & Teens) 30 Wed. Puppet Sea Theater: “A House for Hermit Crab” The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center Discover the amazing world of sea life with a puppet show about a hermit crab who searches for a new home!
