Anita Avenue, held its second of three 5th Annual Pastoral Anniversary for Pastor C.D. Speights. This year’s theme was “Our Pastor, A Leader of Unwavering Faith.” Guest speaker for the celebration was Pastor Willie Gray of Simi Valley Second Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Gray read from I Corinthians 15:58: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” The purpose and occasion for a pastor’s anniversary celebration is to show gratitude and appreciation to the church’s pastor. The celebration signifies the day the pastor began working at the church to serve the Lord and members of the church. It was a very special day for the pastor and his wife.
