hen Christine Champagne was in the market for a new business venture, she knew that she wanted to open a franchise. She felt like a proven formula would increase her odds of success. As Christine researched Gigi’s Cupcakes, she fell in love with the product and thought the timing was perfect. She thought that the advantage of the Gigi’s Cupcake franchise was that it would appeal to our local market, which has always had a strong hometown bakery bond. Evidently, she was right. Christine has just celebrated her first year doing business as Gigi’s Cupcakes in Harvey and has had a tremendously positive response from the local community.

Gigi’s Cupcakes was founded in 2008, in Nashville, Tennessee by Gina Butler. While pursuing a singing career, Gina cleaned houses by day and sang at night. She would occasionally bake for her clients and family and they would rave about her delicious cupcakes. Under the urging of her brother, she started her own bakery. Success was immediate. In just 4 years, Gigi’s Cupcakes is the fastest growing cupcake franchise in America operating over 80 stores nationwide. We recently sat down with Christine to ask her about her business and how she is enjoying working in the wedding industry.
NWG: What types of services can you provide? We cater to all types of events - weddings, showers, bridal luncheons, or corporate parties. We deliver, with a four-dozen minimum, so we can make things easier for you during your event. We definitely have an attention to detail. We can personalize your cupcakes both with decoration and flavor, with over 100 varieties to choose from. We also have monograming. We offer cupcakes as an alternative for your wedding cake and can decorate with feathers, pearls, flowers and more. We will certainly work with you. You may also give the cupcakes as favors at your wedding. The advantage of doing cupcakes over the traditional wedding cake is about a $4
