hat’s “every man’s dream?” According to Bill Klein, it’s all about the electronics! Bill and his wife, Jen Arnold, are the stars of TLC’s “The Little Couple.” This charming couple’s just like any average newlyweds––except for the fact that they’re both under four feet tall! Bill and Jen face the struggles of two little people in an average-sized world, while meeting the challenges of a move to a new city (Houston!), negotiating the building of a new home, and weighing the risks of planning a family––all while navigating the ups and downs of any new marriage. On Tuesday, July 26th, fans watched as Richard Machemehl of our own Home Theater Evolutions helped Bill design the Savant home entertainment system of his dreams. Bill says, ““The team at Home Theater Evolutions is great. From integrating the latest technology to make our home comfortable and convenient to the service they provided to help us understand how 2 ~ UPCLOSE ~ October 2011

to use it, Home Theater Evolutions was simply the best choice. Thank you, Rich, Scott, Luis and the rest of the HTE team!” While Jen went to work at Texas Children’s Hospital, Bill took a walk through the Home Theater Evolutions showroom. Owners Richard Machemehl and Scott Crain have made high-tech solutions user-friendly in this inviting space. After showing Bill a television hidden behind a Vutec art screen and some “hidden” in-wall speakers, Richard demonstrated how Bill could control his televisions, music, lights, and security system from an iPad using the Savant system. Scott says, “The Savant control and automation system’s a great example of quality and value. Everything—from the design of the docking system to the user-friendly interface—is designed to be intelligent, affordable, and extremely easy to use…the way the best technology should be. Now Bill turns on his TVs and sets the lighting scene from his iPhone.” Since Jen loves to entertain, Richard and Scott set up twelve audio zones in the house using DesignQ speakers, so Bill and Jen can get music anywhere from Pandora (or other internet music providers), iTunes, or their computers and control it through their iPads. The same system controls the lighting for the perfect party setting. Home Theater Evolutions will be coming back out to extend the automation system to control the pool equipment. “I’ll never go to the movie theater again...I’ll never have to,” says Bill and it’s true! There are many new televisions in the new house, but his favorite is the 100 inch projection television in his home theater room. Richard says, “We used a special screen and embedded the DesignQ speakers behind it so they’re totally hidden and the sound really is movie-theater quality. We really enjoy getting to know our customers so we can create exactly the experience they’ve been wanting.” Don’t worry if you missed the big episode! Look for the clip titled “Every Man’s Dream” in the episode “New House Delays” at www.tlc.com, itunes, or on the Home Theater Evolutions Facebook page. Better yet, visit the Home Theater Evolutions Showroom and see all the amazing, intelligent, and affordable solutions for yourself! What’s the Buzz?

Sarah Warburton

H

ow did Classic Chevrolet place first out of fifty-three dealers in order to win the Chevrolet Service Hero Award for the second straight quarter? Or why did General Motors recognize Classic Chevy as a 2010 GM Dealer of the Year... an honor given to the top two percent of Chevrolet dealers in the region? The answer’s simple––customer satisfaction! So to get the real story on Classic Chevrolet’s commitment to customer service, we looked at reviews from everyday customers who’ve experience the difference for themselves! “After going to many other dealerships in the Houston area, I finally stopped in at Classic, I expected the same ol’ run around. but I was totally surprised to find an easy-going group that actually made it exciting and fun to shop for a new car. They treated me like a family friend and really helped me to understand the whole process and what was going on. Classic is my new dealership!!!” “We laughed and talked. The car was presented in a factual way that I understood, The numbers were (surprisingly) as advertised! It was FUN and QUICK! This is the way to buy a car. I highly recommend Classic Chevrolet and the way they treat customers. I am thrilled. I will be back.” “I bought a used car from Classic and the ownership/management really ‘went the

6 ~ UPCLOSE ~ October 2011

extra mile’ for me. They know how to treat their customers and they really care about your experience. I felt like I was treated like I was buying a new car instead of a used one.” “What a nice buying experience (for a change)! I recently purchased a 2011 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid from Classic Chevrolet. After I had already taken delivery of the vehicle, their internet sales guy called to tell me they’d discovered I qualified for an extra manufacturer’s rebate based on my USAA membership. They gave me money back after they had ALREADY sold me the vehicle. How many dealerships would do that?” “Not every review we get is positive,” says Don Kerstetter, owner of Classic Chevrolet Sugar Land, “but that’s where we set ourselves apart. When something goes wrong, we see it as an opportunity for change. I startled one customer who sent me an email about a disappointing experience when I called him back on Sunday night. I told him if he cared enough to send me an email sharing his disappointment, I didn’t want to wait a minute to let him know we’d make things right for him. I can’t promise we’ll never make mistakes, but I can promise we’ll work to give you the excellent experience you deserve. Come out and challenge us to be everything we say we are...and everything you want us to be!”

Breaking News

Sarah Warburton ow can you tell if you have a fracture or a broken bone? Orthopedic specialist Mark Vann, MD says, “They are exactly the same! A fracture is just the formal orthopedic term for a broken bone... and about 6.8 million of them are diagnosed each year in the US alone. Most are caused by trauma like a car accident, a football tackle, or a fall. As an orthopedic surgeon, I’m trained to treat fractures throughout the skeleton, except for the skull and face (I leave those to the neurosurgeons and ENTs). For patients under the age of seventy-five the wrist is the most common area for fractures...and for those over the age of seventy-five it’s the hip. In every case, we’ll start by assessing the type

H

and severity of the break.” Your bones are in a continual state of turnover, so they’re always ready to heal. Dr. Vann says, “In order for a fracture to heal as well as possible, we need to get the best reduction or placement of the bones so the ends of the broken parts are aligned. How easy or challenging this is depends on the severity and type of fracture you have, its location, other injuries to surrounding joints, and your age and activity level. There are many different types of fractures classified by the direction of the break relative to the bone, whether or not the skin is lacerated, and how many fragments have resulted.” “After an exam and an x-ray, we’ll determine the best course of action for you. In most cases, we place the broken bone in a cast, after manipulating the bone for the best alignment. If we can’t get a satisfactory alignment, we may turn to surgery to stabilize the bone with pins, plates, screws, or rods.” “No two patients and no two fractures are exactly alike...so the treatment we use and the length of time you’ll need to heal will vary. In every case, I’ll always here to answer

your questions so you can understand and feel confident in your treatment!” Mark Vann, MD Board Certified, Fellowship Trained, Orthopedic Surgeon Lower Extremity Specialist Sugar Land Medical Plaza 1327 Lake Point Parkway, Suite 520 Sugar Land, TX 77478 713-876-6518 www.MarkVannMD.com

You hate to walk into a doctor’s office and have them look at you like they’ve never seen you before...and that would never happen at Dr. Doan’s!” For over a decade Heather and her family have trusted Dr. Doan with their eyesight. office in 1997...and he liked her so well that I started coming to see her, too. Later he had LASIK, and Dr. Doan took care of him throughout the process, except for the surgery itself. She fit my eleven-year-old son with glasses, and when he’s ready (and a little older) we’ll talk about contacts. I myself wear contacts during the day and glasses at night...and Dr. Doan’s always there to catch changes in my vision. Only my thirteen-year-old daughter doesn’t need corrective lenses, yet. Dr. Doan’s got two children of her own, so she’s great with patients of all ages.” Excellent vision care means more than glasses and contacts lenses. As a member of Vision Source, Dr. Doan is an independent optometrist who’s undergone a rigorous admissions process and regularly updates her education. She screens her patients for conditions and diseases like cataracts, macular degeneration, corneal ulcers, and diabetic retinopathy. Heather says, “We’ve been blessed with healthy eyes in our family, and I trust Dr. Doan’s eye exams. In other optometric offices, it used to drive me crazy when you’d get the dilation done and have to sit around and wait for it to wear off. Dr. Doan uses something that doesn’t take so long...she always puts your health and your comfort first.” “I love Dr. Doan’s office...it’s not close to my house, but I’ll make the drive, because I always enjoy my visits and she’s such a great doctor!” Dr. Anh Doan, O.D. Science Can Heal the Heartbreak Sarah Warburton t’s a sad statistic that up to one in every four recognized pregnancies is lost in the first trimester to miscarriage. Most

I

women who experience a miscarriage go on to have a healthy pregnancy and never miscarry again. However, about five percent of fertile couples experience two or more miscarriages. Triple board-certified fertility specialist, Dr. Subodh Chauhan, says, “The risk of a recurrent miscarriage goes up dramatically after the second failed pregnancy. That’s the time to seek expert help. I’m here to help diagnose the underlying cause...and help you fulfill your dreams of having a family.” Many things can keep a pregnancy from coming to term. Dr. Chauhan says, “All kind of issues can cause a failed pregnancy, including anatomic problems (septum,

fibroids, adhesions), immunologic problems (antiphospholipid antibodies), endocrine problems(thyroid, diabetes, PCOS), environmental risks (smoking, alcohol, caffeine), and genetic problems (chromosomal abnormalities in embryo or parental chromosomal abnormalities).” Did you know that chromosome abnormalities are the most common cause of first trimester miscarriage? In fact, 60% -70% of all pregnancy losses in first trimester are due to chromosomal abnormalities – extra or missing whole chromosomes. Happily, in the last year we’ve seen an amazing breakthrough in diagnosing and treating this cause of infertility...microarray testing. For couples suffering through the emotional devastation of recurring pregnancy loss, there’s a new hope. Dr. Chauhan says, “In the past we used Fluoresence in situ hybridization testing to get information on 8 chromosomes... now with microarray we can evaluate all 24 chromosomes. This allows us to determine if chromosomal abnormalities are the cause of loss of pregnancy, find the paren-

tal origin of the abnormal chromosome, and check all chromosomes before implanting an embryo for the best chance of success.” “The answer to your infertility may be as simple as balancing your hormones or it could be more of a challenge. I’ll always honor your feelings and give you the best information for your decision,” says Dr. Chauhan. “I promise to listen, support you, and put my experience and resources to work in the hope of making your dream come true.” Fertility Specialists of Houston 4724 Sweetwater Blvd, Ste 105 Sugar Land, TX 77479 832-553-5IVF (5483) www.fshivf.com Email Dr. Chauhan your questions at schauhan@fshivf.com

How Do You Find the Best? Sarah Warburton

hen Dr. Shannon Orsak of St. Michael’s Emergency Rooms and his wife Sarah needed to have their hardwood floors resurfaced, they looked for the best people for the job. “We didn’t go in blind,” says Sarah. “We called up a company that’s done work for us before, asked around, and got a few quotes. Through St. Michael’s we’re members of the Texas Referral Network where we met Bob and Renee McKelvey from All About Carpet and Floors. When we asked them for a quote, they gave us the best price for the best product. That’s why we chose All About Carpet to resurface all

our hardwood floors and install hardwood on our stairs.” “Sanding the floor is a messy job,” says Sarah, “but the All About Carpet team was really great about keeping things clean. We had them sand the floors down, match the colors, and put hardwood on our stairs that had been carpeted. They were timely and polite, really wonderful about cleaning up after themselves, and the job was finished on-time. Now it looks absolutely beautiful! The actual work was very quick...it took longer to wait for the finish to dry and set than it did for them to do the work! And throughout the whole experience, Bob and Renee were really great about keeping in touch. It didn’t matter what time of day, they always kept us informed and were available to answer our questions or concerns.” What’s the best recommendation you can give a company? Your repeat business! Sarah says, “We were so pleased with the work they did and the way our floors look that we’ve chosen All About Carpet and Floors to replace our upstairs carpet. We love what they did, so we’re using them again. That says it all!” Customer satisfaction and a commitment to excellence have made All About Carpet and Floors a Fort Bend favorite for over fifteen years. Owners Bob and Renee McKelvey say, “In everything we do, customer satisfaction is our top priority. If you’re having trouble imagining the perfect floor for your home or you don’t know if your current flooring can be ‘saved,’ the experts in our showroom can open your eyes to the possibilities. We pride ourselves in offering the best of the best. Our products come straight from the best-known manufacturers, are installed by the best installers, and are ALWAYS sold to you at the very best price possible. The Smile She’ll Never Forget Sarah Warburton

hen the little girl first walked through the door, she wouldn’t look up, never spoke above a whisper, and wouldn’t smile. Dr. Katia Lemke, DMD says, “She was the sweetest elevenyear-old girl, but she was actually missing some teeth and needed some straightening. She was so self-conscious about her smile. Her parents hadn’t been able to bring her in for any pre-treatment, so she needed a lot of work. Through traditional braces, we were able to close the spaces left by her missing teeth without implants and give her a beautiful smile by the time she was thirteen!” “A case like this one could have taken

years,” Dr. Lemke says, “but using traditional braces, we were able to get wonderful results...in the same amount of time as a patient without those challenges. Afterwards we saw an incredible change in her attitude, her demeanor, and her self-confidence!” If your child’s smile needs a lift, come see Dr. Lemke. She says, “My office is open late (until 7pm) on Monday and Tuesday and early (7am) on Friday, so it’s easier for my patients (and their parents)! We’ll take an x-ray and examine any existing or potential problems. Even if I don’t do anything right away, it’s good to know what’s coming. And if a child is extremely self-conscious about gaps or crooked teeth, sometimes I can make an aesthetic change. Whether we use traditional braces, Invisalign, or Incognito (lingual) Braces, we have a range of solutions for straighter, healthier smiles... and happier kids” “When I think about the ‘before’ and ‘after’ for each of my patients, it’s the happiness in their eyes and their new willingness to smile that makes me smile, too!”

Methodist Sugar Land Hospital Offers FREE FLU SHOTS to benefit Santa’s Gift Exchange

M

ethodist Sugar Land Hospital, in collaboration with Fort Bend and Sugar Land Exchange Club and the Sugar Land Rotary, will provide free flu shots on Saturday, October 29 to community members who participate in Santa’s Gift Exchange. Fort Bend residents can bring a new, unwrapped toy or clothing item to Methodist Sugar Land Hospital from 8 a.m. to noon in exchange for a flu shot. The toys and clothing will benefit local children in the Fort Bend area. In 2010, Santa’s Gift Exchange provided toys and clothing to more than 3,000 economically disadvantaged children in Fort Bend County. Organizers of Santa’s Gift Exchange 2011 are anticipating an equal or greater number of qualifying families due to recent economic downturns. “Everyone’s help is needed to meet the challenge of providing toys for our children who will not have toys this year without our help,” said John Robson, Chairman of Santa’s Gift Exchange 2011. “We are looking forward to partnering with Methodist Sugar Land Hospital for a fourth year. This is a great collaboration; get a flu shot and in return you are able to give back to the children in this community,” says Steve Griffith, Exchange Club of Sugar Land President.

The flu vaccine is formulated to provide protection against three different flu strains – H1N1, H3N2 and influenza B. Methodist Sugar Land Hospital will be distributing a limited supply of the influenza vaccine to persons age 18 and older with no history of egg and/or latex allergy. If you are pregnant, please visit your OB/GYN or primary care physician to have your vaccine administered.

If you would like to participate in this community event, please bring an unwrapped, new toy or clothing item to the main lobby of Methodist Sugar Land Hospital between the times of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29th.

Don’t Let the Energy Monster Get You! Cara Smith

ven though Halloween’s just around the corner, it’s still pretty dang hot around here. This month, while ghosts and skeletons are popping up everywhere, there’s one monster you should put to rest: your energy-sucking A/C unit! If your energy bills are downright scary, and your A/C clunked and moaned its way through the summer, Jackson Air has just the thing for you: a high-efficiency, seriously energy-saving unit from Trane that can slash your bills faster than a masked madman in a horror flick. And the cost won’t spook you at all! “With your choice of $1,250 in instant rebates or 0% financing

for 36 months, you can afford to treat yourself,” says owner Brian Jackson, “and it’s a great time to take advantage of federal tax credits before they expire in December.” As Sugar Land’s oldest independent Trane dealer, Jackson Air knows how to do the job right, and how to make sure there aren’t any scary surprises lurking in your heating and cooling systems. “We do a thorough inspection, so we can make sure we get your unit installed properly and that everything’s working like it should,” says Brian. They also offer routine maintenance plans to fit your needs, to make sure it all keeps working that way. And while it’s hard to believe that cool air is on the way, it will be, sooner or later, which means it’s a great time to get your furnace inspected before the winter. “We care about our neighbors,” Brian continues, “and we want to keep them safe and comfortable all winter long.” Remember to stay safe this Halloween, and call Jackson Air to treat yourself to a comfortable home—with no tricks. Conserving Water Can Save You Money

e’re running low on water in Texas this year, so homeowners across Fort Bend are looking for ways to conserve each drop...and save money, too! Master Plumber Alan Burkhalter says, “One leaky pipe can make a big impact on your water bill. Keep an eye on those numbers each month and if you see an unexplained jump in your bill, give us a call. A leaky toilet can waste up to 200 gallons of water a day. Undiscovered leaks are just like money going down the drain!”

Did you know that a family of four uses 400 gallons of water every day? Remember the little things that make a difference like turning off the water while you shave or brush your teeth and only running the dishwasher when it’s full. Alan says, “All of us–– me, my brothers Chris and Brian, my two oldest sons Luke and Beau or new addition Zach––are always happy to answer questions or help you get set up with aerators on your plumbing fixtures, low flow shower heads that give you maximum spray while conserving water, or low flow toilets. You’ll always get the best service, a fair price, and a straight answer from us, because we believe in treating people right!” How long are you running your shower, waiting for the water to heat up? If your hot water heater is old, it could be costing you more and doing less. Call up the experts at Alan’s Plumbing for the inside scoop. Alan says, “Another ‘green’ solution I recommend is a new hot water heater. New water heaters are

more efficient, work better, and require less energy, less space, and less money than old ones...so you’ll get hot water when you need it! Call us up and we’ll walk you through the options.” Don’t let pesky plumbing problems like a dripping faucet, running toilet, clogged drain, worn-out water heater or outdated bathroom fixtures make you see red. Maybe Someday...

Sarah Warburton o you want a family someday...but not today? We asked Dr. Leslie Cohan of The Woman’s Place about the different options for birth control and the impact they have on your fertility. She says, “The best contraception is the one that’s safe, will be used correctly and consistently...and works with your body and your plans for the future.” “Some options don’t affect your long-term fertility, but they only work if you use them consistently and correctly. Vaginal barriers like the diaphragm or sponge are relatively simple and can be used with little advanced planning. Condoms are inexpensive, available without a prescription and easy to use. Not only do they prevent pregnancy, but by preventing sexually transmitted infections, condoms help protect your future fertility. They can (and should) be used along with other methods to protect yourself, your partners, and your long-term fertility.” “One of the most popular forms of contraception is the daily pill, which contains a combination of progesterone and estrogen. Usually three weeks of “active” pill are followed by one week of “reminder” pills. Newer pills are lower dose and have a shorter “pill-free” interval. Some require a period only four times a year. Newer combined hormonal methods work on the same principle. You can get pregnant as soon as you stop any of these methods, although it’s easier to pinpoint ovulation if you wait two or three months after stopping before conceiving. The Progesterone-based Depo-Provera injection is given every 12 weeks and may free you from a period altogether. Ovulation can return three to six months after stopping Depo-Provera, but some women need up to 18 months.” “If you’re really sure you don’t want to become pregnant for the next few years, but you want to keep your options open, you might consider intrauterine contraceptives or IUDs like Mirena. They provide effective, long-term protection against pregnancy

D

and after they are inserted in a doctor’s office, they’re hassle-free and absolutely reversible at any time. They do work better in women who have been pregnant.” “Come see me and we’ll discuss your health, family history, lifestyle, and plans for the future. I’m always happy to explain your choices, so you can make an informed decision for your health today...and the years to come!” The Woman’s Place (affiliated with the Woman’s Hospital of Texas) 713-795-0349 16552 Southwest Freeway Sugar Land, TX 77479 http://drcohan.womanshealthgroup.com/

Fall into a Clean Home!

verybody always talks about spring cleaning, but what about fall cleaning? It makes perfect sense for us Texans, when we’ve been holed up all summer, to give things a thorough freshening up when the weather finally gives us a break. And with the holidays just around the corner—and the guests, parties, and decorating—there couldn’t be a better time. Nor could there be better help than Professional Maid Service, locally owned and operated by Max McCammond. They’re cleaning experts, and they’ll do a truly professional job on your home. “Our maids uphold the highest possible standards—yours,” says Max. Nothing is ever swept under the rug,

and the only cobwebs you’ll see are your Halloween decorations. And not only do they clean professionally, but they act professionally, too. All of Max’s carefully screened employees are bonded and insured, and they arrive in uniform in a company car, so you’ll know just who’s at your house. Plus, they’ll discuss your needs with you so they make sure they’re doing the job right. Falling into a sparkling home is easy—if you leave it to the professionals! Cleaning to the “Max”

With the holidays coming up, it’s time to shine your silver. But if you hate standing at the sink for hours with the polish, there’s an easier way! Line a pan with aluminum foil, and add three inches of water and a teaspoon each of baking soda and salt. Bring it to a boil on the stove, and carefully add your silver pieces. Make sure the water covers them, and let them simmer for two or three minutes. All the tarnish will be transferred to the foil, and voila—shining silver with a lot less elbow grease. Check in next month for a nearly-magical hint about cleaning stubborn grease out of pots and pans—just in time for Thanksgiving!

Trick My...

f you drive 90A between Sugar Land and Richmond/Rosenberg, you may have noticed the awesome monster trucks parked outside Lonestar Speed Shop... but that’s not all! Varuna Entertainment, creators of the hit CMT show “Trick My Truck,” have teamed up with Lonestar Speed Shop (also home to All Out Off Road) for a new show hosted by John Schneider, set to begin a nine-episode run on October 7th. Owner Chance Kamp says, “We’ve always said that if you can drive it, we can trick it out. Now the new show, ‘Trick My What!’ puts us to the test...and we’re up to the challenge!” Trick My What?!” gives blue-collar work-

ers the opportunity to trick out anything with an engine that helps put food on the table for their family. From shrimp boats to combines or logging skidders, Schneider and the guys from the Lonestar Speed Shop will trick out the lucky laborer’s equipment. Schneider says, “The heart of the show is finding out about the amazing and exciting things real families do to earn a living and fixing up the specific and unusual equipment they need to get those jobs done. Planting cabbages at Froberg’s Family Farm in Alvin or seeing the way one of those logging skidders could fell a tree before I’d even started my chainsaw really brings home how important these vehicles are to the families we feature.” Known for his roles on “Dukes of Hazard,” “Smallville,” and “Nip/ Tuck,” among others this award-winning actor and proud father of three has spent his fair share of time in Texas. From “Eddie Macon’s Run” filmed

in Laredo back in ’83 to Doonby filmed this year at Spiderwood Studios near Austin, John Schneider’s worked all over the Lone Star State. He’s also toured Texas performing his country music in places like Gilley’s in Dallas...and it’s rumored he’ll be providing the theme song for “Trick My What?!” Remember his fancy driving in “Dukes of Hazard” (where he performed many of his own stunts)? Keep your eyes peeled on 90A (or tune into CMT on October 7th) to see the gravel fly outside the Lonestar Speed Shop and All Out Off Road! “Trick My What?!” airs on CMT starting October 7th at 10/9c Lonestar Speed Shop and All Out Off Road 281-341-9494 708 Hwy 90A Richmond, TX. 77469 www.lonestarspeedshop.com All Out Off Road Stafford 281-499-3806 • 13261 Murphy Rd. www.alloutoffroad.com

The New Face of PAIN

W

hen you’re in pain, it’s hard to think clearly, and treatment decisions can seem overwhelming. Fortunately, the best solution is also the simplest one—and it’s offered right here by Sebastian Villarreal, M.D. Dr. Villarreal heads up the Houston Interventional Pain Center, where he helps free patients from pain—without surgery. “It’s always a good idea to start simple,” says Dr. Villarreal. “If there’s a non-surgical way that we can manage pain, the patient can start to feel better more quickly, without the additional recovery time.” Fellowship-trained in anesthesiology and pain management, Dr. Villarreal provides minimally-invasive injections for pain associated with most neck, back, and joint disorders. They’re minor, outpatient procedures, done right in his office without a trip—and they produce major results. How does it work? Using advanced digital imaging equipment, Dr. Villarreal carefully pinpoints the area where the pain is stemming from, which he injects with a combination of short- and long-acting pain medication. “I like to compare it to a sports car and an 18-wheeler,” he explains. “Like a sports car, the short-acting anesthetic gets there quickly, which provides instant relief and lets us know we’ve found the right spot. The long-acting medication, on the other hand, takes a little

longer to get going, but it provides relief for the long haul.” The path to less pain starts with less stress. Dr. Villarreal’s staff is warm, friendly, and experienced. The office has a personal atmosphere, is easily accessible, and best of all, Dr. Villarreal works his patients in quickly. “I know how debilitating pain is, and you shouldn’t have to deal with red tape, struggle to get into the office, or wait for treatment,” he says. That empathy defines his whole approach, and patients feel instantly at ease with him— as do their families, whom he involves in treatment decisions as often as possible. “Dealing with pain can be difficult, but that doesn’t mean the treatment should be,” explains Dr. Villarreal. “I saw a patient referred Friday straight from his doctor’s office. His wife couldn’t be there on such short notice, so we put her on speaker phone to include her in the consultation. That’s the kind of immediate, personal, flexible care that really sets us apart from the large institutions.” So, if you’re hurting, call Dr. Villarreal. He makes it simple to strike through pain!

“Why Did We Wait So Long?”

“T

he temperature upstairs in our house just never got below 85 degrees in the summer and it was so humid! We’d had these old A/C systems that were fifteen years old and it was time to do something about it,” says Fort Bend resident Beverly Haugseth. “My husband, Paul, is an engineer and he did all the research on different air conditioning companies and interviewed several sales people.

He chose Bryan Bellamy of All Out A/C for three reasons. First, it was clear Bryan knew what he was talking about, secondly he was honest and forthright, and thirdly he offered us a fair price for the units we chose.” “Since we were replacing our entire air conditioning system, it wasn’t a decision we took lightly. Bryan came out and walked us through the rebates and government incentives. He knew what we needed for the size of our home and the best SEER rating for us and made his suggestions...and he was spoton. The units we have now are incredible!” “The team from All Out replaced our full systems inside and out and I’ve been recommending them ever since! They were efficient, respectful, and fun to be around. They paid attention to where we spend our time and asked which areas we wanted cooler so that our ducts delivered the cool air where we need it most. And Bryan’s always been available to answer questions whenever we need his help...even after all the work was finished! “Now I sit upstairs in the evenings where it used to be so hot. That part of the house faces the west and gets the full

afternoon sun. Even with the thermostat on 78 degrees, I need a blanket on my lap. Our new air conditioning system takes the humidity right out of the air and we’re seeing real savings on our electric bill. Basically, we’re paying less and staying cooler. Every day since we had them replaced my husband and I look at each other and say, ‘I can’t believe we waited so long to have this done!’” All Out A/C and Heating 281-238-9292 626 Highway 90A Richmond, TX 77406 www.alloutacandheating.com
