SUMMER BARBECUE

The 60+ Activity Center has a variety of facility rentals to meet your needs. Please call (541) 265-9617 for more information.

2nd Annual Bonne Santé Wellness Fair: “Take Care of Yourself Take Care of Your World” – Tuesday, September 23rd, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Bonne Santé (meaning “good health”) is a special one day wellness event encompassing both personal and environmental health. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, with morning speakers and presentations followed by informational booths and demonstrations in the afternoon. This event is free.

Wednesday, July 30th, 12:00 - 2:00 pm. Come join us for a casual and relaxing summer cookout on the patio! Call (541) 265-9617 for more information.

CRAFTER’S CORNER Come browse at our gift shop! You are sure to find something special and unique at a very reasonable price. Shop hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.

EQUIPMENT ON LOAN

Wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, shower chairs, and toilet lifts are available to seniors who need them. For more information, call a Host or Hostess at 541 265-9617.

THE MEALS ON WHEELS MEAL SITE

This program is offered every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon. Come and enjoy a fresh hot meal, visit with old friends, and make new ones. Donations are encouraged.

HOMEBOUND LUNCH PROGRAM

Hot lunches are served to the homebound. Please call 541 574-0669 for prices and meals to be delivered to your home.

PAWS ON WHEELS Delivered monthly to your home. Paws on Wheels delivers dog and/or cat food monthly that is donated by individuals and local businesses. Eligibility is available only to people who receive meals from Meals on Wheels.

SUPPORT GROUPS

THE FRIENDS OF THE NEWPORT SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTER This group’s purpose is to provide support to the Newport 60+ Activity Center in assisting with senior needs, foster and encourage residents and visitors to participate in a variety of activities, encourage awareness of good health practices through activities, enlist support of other groups interested in advancing the above purposes, and assist in further construction and maintenance of the Newport 60+ Center. The Friends meet the 3rd Thursday of each month.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Your talent and ideas are welcome at the Newport 60+ Activity Center. Please call the Center at (541) 265-9617. We are looking for volunteers to teach classes in a variety of venues from beginning Spanish, to beading, to any health and wellness or other personal development offerings you might be willing to share. We are always looking for volunteers for our parties, special events, and general office help. Come help this center be what you want it to be, helping benefit our entire community.
