Finances NHCC makes every effort to keep housing reasonable by charging rates at or below what similar accommodations would normally cost.

Unity Campus unity is attainable at a higher level when students live in community. In view of this rationale, residence in the dorms will be a requirement for all single students under the age of 21. Exemptions may be given to students living with family, Armed Forces veterans, part-time students (6 hours or less) or students with junior status, even if under age 21. If any student has a need to live off-campus and does not meet any of the above qualifications, they can submit a written petition for an exemption. This petition needs to be submitted to the Director of Student Life.

RESIDENCE HALL GUIDELINES The following guidelines for dormitory residence have been established in the best interests of all students. Most of these guidelines also appear on the Dormitory Resident’s Agreement form. No one will be allowed to move into college housing without payment of a $325.00 deposit. This is an annual payment that must be paid before the beginning of the semester if the student chooses to live in the dorms. $275.00 of this deposit is conditionally refundable to the student, and $50.00 is a non-refundable carpet cleaning deposit.

Gender Respect All areas in the dorms, except the women’s main entrance lobby and the IGNITE Team Directors’ apartments, are off limits to the opposite gender.

Age Policy for Dorm Living Single students are required to live on campus unless they are 21 years of age, have reached Junior status, or live with parents or approved relatives. The minimum age for living in NHCC dorms is 17 1/2. For information regarding residing on or off campus, contact the Student Life Department.
